Who knows if the production version is going to have the same HP as the model Ford gave to MotorTrend or Edmunds.

Either way I dont care its still a drivers race and the Camaro looks 10x better.

It is also fine with me if they suck away some potential Camaro owners, the less of my car on the road the better for me.

I love his videos. He sold me on the 2010 GT500. Very candid non-PC feedback about what he is actually experiencing.

I'm not sure why they are using video of a California Special when he is driving a Grabber Blue GT.

i still will never understand the "well if you mod this one it will be faster than that one"

of course the 5.0 will be more expensive to mod. dont think anyone is going to argue that.

once you start comparing modded cars, its just a pocketbook/bank account thing.

my car will eat a stock SS and a new 5.0 up with 2 less cylinder and a pos truck motor in it. is it the better car? not a chance

Yeah i'll agree with the last guy, i defended the Camaro when it was being dogged like that so now in all fairness i'll defend the Mustang. You cant say "oh yeah, suuure, its faster stock, but add this and this and the other car will eat it alive" doesnt matter cause at that point its not stock for stock, all that matters is how they come out of the factory, i said it when people dogged the Camaro and now i gotta say it now that people are doggin the Mustang, im a fan of all muscle and dont ignorently ally myself with one certain brand, they're all amazing beautiful works of pure american art and they all desirve the same respect as such.

Personally i was extremely surprised with the new 5.0s capabilities, i never expected it to do that much better, but it has, and is obviously under-rated by Ford. So now GM needs to fire back by putting a little more power and shedding a little weight off the Camaro. Unfortunatly i get the feeling that GM is going to ignore it for a year at least, release the convertible this year and try to rely on that to keep it afloat, which will be really lame if thats all they do. They can release a Z/28 but if they make the Z/28 the Camaro version of the GT500 thats not gonna do anything for GM's current problem of the SS being down one to the GT. I really hope they dont use the GT500 as the measuring stick for the Z/28, i think it should set its own bases and limits without having to compare itself to anything. Plus i want it to be cheaper =D haha

So, Mustang is now the top dog, GM has yet to announce anything about its 2011 model so dont count your chickens before they hatch, GM could easily pull out a 1-up on Ford before the release, and Mopar...wait, where has Mopar been all this time? Somebody wake up Mopar...

Don't think he was talking about mod vs. stock, but rather that the '10 Camaro will get more out of mods than the '11 GT. That should count for something.

Also, that GM can do some simple changes to the base LS3 to catch up to the Mustang, if necessary. Ford probably won't be able to get much more out of the 5.0 with simple changes.

Oh and an afterthough...
The 2011 Mustang is built in Michigan, i think that wins me over more than any of the statistics ive seen on the car so far. Finally, an American muscle car that ISNT made in Canada. Thank god that embarrassment is finally coming to an end, please, pleeaassee follow suit GM...

So you're saying that Canada isn't American?

Did you pass the third grade by chance?

Yes i know it is "North America" i meant USA, but as most normal USA-ians do (cause obviously i have to get EXTREMELY specific for you) we normall reffer to ourselves as Americans and our country as America just out of habit, so i appologize i'll try to fix my mistake in the future. But to emphasize, when you think "american muscle" you think stars and stripes, not red maple leaves, but i gues i gotta say USA muscle for now on so we dont have a shit fit LOL

+1

i do like the fact that the mustang isn't an import. I really want one! thinking of selling the 03 Cobra.

i did/am shopping a camaro too. It's actually a couple (less than $10) bucks less a month to insure compared to a new GT, both of which is about $50 a month more than my 03 Cobra Convertible.

in the end, i don't know if either makes sense for me.

even the mod for mod thing doesnt make sense to me. of course a pushrod is cheaper to do internal engine modifications to.

any simple change would require going through sae certification again, as well as going through epa again, smog testing, etc etc etc.

all that costs a lot of money, and a lot of time, which GM doesnt have right now, but is getting closer.

the time/money thing is why i dont think you'll see a power increase in 2011 for the camaro. im assuming gears/handling pack or something if anything

Thats true, but it makes me woner if Ford had to re-certify its car for 2010 when they just freshened the body. And if so i bet GM had to get the Camaro re-certified for the minor changes between 99 and 2000 models, so hopefully they'll be willing to take that extra step for the customer for 2011

not because of the body change, but the reprogrammed ecm and cold air intake is what required it to be re-certified
