At that point I think you could have contested it, as the officer was driving dangerously close to you. I have a rule for tailgaters: if I can see their headlights between the spoiler and the trunk (which would be shortly before I CAN'T see their headlights), they get to see my break lights. If I get pulled over for it, I will just say 'thought I saw a deer' or 'thought the guy next to me was about to merge into my lane'

I have noticed that many times the Car behind me will get so close I cannot see it's headlights.. but with the crazy ass drivers nowadays no matter how fast you are driving if you leave more than a carlength between you and the car in front some A-hole will cut into it.. and that kind of driving really burns me up...

We had something funny happen, we were turning into tha access road to Walmart yesterday, and they had one of those Radar speed indicating signs set up, the speed limit was 25... Well the two cars in front of us showed 22 and 24 MPH, but when we got there it jumped up to 55 MPH!! (we were actually doing 25 according to the DIC speed display).... Dang I didn't know that even Radar thinks The Camaro looks fast

might have picked up something other than your car, like a stone or something that got kicked up from the other lane. Only explanation I can think of

That datsun burnout-cop one was me the day i picked up my SRX. I drove my 91 Chevy Caprice to the dealer, same left turn type deal. Punched it as swung the rear end out on the corner to the tune of a speedy cop car pulling in from another lane behind me. A nice $200 start to the day, but not bad considering i spent $66000 only an hour later!

I don't know, there wasn't anyone behind us, I just thought it was strange and funny that it would jump up for us in the Camaro when it was fairly steady for the two cars in front of us...

If there was another vehicle close to you, it could have combined the reading. It happens when it can't decipher between the faster unit and or the larger one. So it could have combined your 25mph with another vehicles 30mph. Just a possiblity.

I don't think so because as I said nobody was behind us and the other cars had already passed it... I chalk it up to a radar malfunction... I hope the ones cops use to give us tickets are better than that one...

this is what i love about my f-100 and loved about my 06 f-350. someone got too close i slow down. they still want to ride me then then get a small brake tap. if they are still there all it takes is about half throttle and i can shut down about 4 lanes with the smoke from my stacks. they back off real quick after that and are usually afraid to pass too.

Hopefully you weren't in the fast lane.

3mph over? You had to be the slowest one out there.

Check you rear view mirror and move over when a fast car comes up on you.

I would probably tail gate you too.
