Ok, I think Viral needs another Zaino zealot to help him defend himself. I'll volunteer. I am a zaino user. I love the stuff. I have not used Adam's products, although from everything I've seen I'm sure they are also high quality. I've used carnuba waxes too, or at least I used to. Now they are used on the winter beater.

Carnuba is a wonderful natural product, and as Junkman points out has pretty good properties. It almost sounds like you need to wetsand to get the stuff off! But to take those stats alone why would we ever have to re-apply? Conventional knowledge says that's crazy, what wax lasts longer than a couple months? If so, ask yourself why it wears off with all those amazing properties?

With a high carnuba content Adam's wax is likely going to ba a more durable product than other carnuba's with lower content levels. But lets address what makes Zaino so durable: Synthetic polymers.

Polymers, which is what Zaino uses are also pretty amazing stuff. They are long chains of molecules that when activated link to each other. That's why you need to wait between coats of Zaino, to give those polymers time to cross-link. This time was ~24hrs, one of the reasons Zaino got a "bad" rep for being difficult. ZFX significantly improves those times, down to about an hour. So in effect Z2/Z5 is a molecular level chainmail for your paint. And even that will break down over time!

A discussion on another board regarding polymer vs. carnuba

As for application time, this comes down with a little practice. I did this practice on my old daily driver, now the wife's car. For the '10 Camaro I have spent exactly 2 nights working on the finish. The first night was shortly after taking delivery. It included a wash, claybar, another wash, then 3 coats of Z2. I did not see an incredible change in the finish after coat 1, the second two I used were put on for additional durability. Total time was about 6 hours, but the first 3 hours would have been the same regardless if I was using Zaino's, Adam's, or an over the counter. The second night was shortly before storing the car for the winter, I washed it and put 2 more coats of Z2 on. As the car was still beading every bit as well as when I first applied the coats it probably wasn't really necessary, I just wanted to spend some extra time with the car before it disappeared for a couple months.

Personally, I have no intention of ever going back to wax. I'll also say that whenever my car does accumulate enough fine scratches I'm going to very seriously consider using some of the Adam's polishes to fix the paint. So far my 2SS still has no scratches on it, but that's more a function of good washing technique. There are plenty of theads on here on how to do that right.

Do some research independent of this board. Draw your own conclusions. I'm just stating my opinion.

Again, another opinion piece from me. I don't see the difference that everyone claims between waxes and Zaino in terms of "warmness" Lighting conditions have ALOT more to do with it. Below are three pics of my car, taken in the exact same parking lot. The second and third pics, or the "warmer" colors were taken about a month later and with the sun lower in the sky. I think we can all agree that these shows far more "warmness" than any difference in the products.

Alas - the troops have arrived!

Well put; as was stated earlier, no one product is better than the other. IMHO its all about the difference in how it is applied, and how they accomplish their results.

Beautiful Camaro BTW

i just used some Adam's products yesterday for the first time... and i was quite impressed with the results.

i used the waterless wash, detail spray, wheel cleaner, and all-purpose cleaner with some of their super plush microfiber towels.

the waterless wash does exactly as the name states and cleans the car very well without using water.

the detail spray smells just like bubble gum and really gives the car that "just" polished/waxed look

the green wheel cleaner is more like a brake dust vaporizer, i spray it on and the brake dust literally dripped off the wheels and a final wipe down with a towel made the wheels cleaner than i have ever gotten them before.

the all-purpose cleaner looks like mountain dew, but will clean ANYTHING! i used it on my tips which for the longest time i thought would never get their polish back, i used it to get the grime off the towels when i was finished and this stuff really worked. i'm going to need a gallon of it because it will get lots of use!

over all, i was 110% satisfied with the results and i intend on getting more products from Adam's Polishes

Yea, that stuff is brutal! Whatever you do, don't spray it on something hot and breath the fumes. It's like mixing ammonia and Clorox together!

Wow, that was a lot of reading. For us average Joe with daily driver, would we want to use Zaino to mask our imperfection once in a while and not peel away our paints with Adams?

And maybe like beowulf80 mention "I'll also say that whenever my car does accumulate enough fine scratches I'm going to very seriously consider using some of the Adam's polishes to fix the paint. " Only then will be a good choice to use Adam

It totally depends on your mindset. Fix it once and care for it properly or deal with it on occasions. There is no one answer for everyone, it is totally up to each individual. One thing you must note. You don't continually cut the clear coat off the car, you do that 1 time. After that, you avoid creating damage and your car remains swirl and scratch free.

Forum member Fanta-Z (Glenn) stopped by my house yesterday for a hands on demo. Here's what his results were. First, the before shots:

You could see the swirls and tell that it was juuuuuust missing that sumthin'-sumthin'...

So, after a little coaxing from the PC, SHR, FMP and Americana, I located Glenn's bling-bling! Note the perfect sunburst...

Now check out this reflectivity...

Another perfect sunburst. Notice how defined the pearl in the paint is now. It was hiding under those swirls and dullness...

And now, the flash test. That flash is so perfect that the reflection caught the exact shape off my camera.

More sunburst perfection!

...and here's the proud poppa of all that bling!

As you can see by the sun and flash burst, his car now has depth and is scratch free (I should say that section of it is). It was 3 steps and out the door he went. He spent most of the rest of the day working on his ride because he couldn't believe how easy and fun it was.
