OK>>>>> Actual quote from the Prius chat site-
_________________________________________ After a few rainy days, I have noticed that my Prius is really missing what my old Corolla had and that is mudguards. OK I can get a set easily and they only cost a few quid, but I was wandering whether anyone who has added mudguards to a Prius has noticed any change in fuel consumption. ______________________ Is that a joke? ReallY???? Dude, get the mud-guards... our planet's very existance depends on you and your mud-guards. and... yes... you read it correctly... he was "wandering" Last edited by GB EB; 04-02-2010 at 11:00 PM. My neighbors don't know quite what to make of me. We live in Sacramento... Prius' everywhere. I had a Mini before I got the Camaro, and my wife and I ride Vespas to work most days. So I'm just waiting for someone to give me the smug "miles per gallon" lecture. I'm fine with people doing what they think is their part for the environment... but just don't be an ass to everyone about it.

Our CEO has the eco weenie thing going, and reserves the front parking spots to alternative fuel/hybrid cars. I asked if Nitrous qualified for alternative and the secretary didn't know so issued me a permit. Needless to say, I only got to use the spot one day. Doesn't matter now as the whole lot is a big hole due to construction.

I openly mock Prius and even worse... Smart Car drivers! There is apparently a Smart Car group who meets here in Warner Robins weekly.. I might have to show up one Saturday!

Great post BTW.
I am not one for politics or politicians. If a hybrid owner ever decides to chastise me for my cars I will gladly tell them to STFU. If they want to escalate beyond that then sorry for them. I have a 0 tolerance policy for "environmentalists". |

I plan to buy a classic car one day and just turn it into a gas guzzling, smog emitting, tire destroyer. That would be my real political statement.
edit* classic so it doesn't have to meet the government's BS emissions.

I don't see many where I do (thank God I live close to the tech center I see a lot of nice cars). Glad to have my Camaro or anything American I get mad when I pull up next to Prius owners, I might be hurting the planet but they're hurting our Country.

I drove one to work in San Francisco and Berkley. Cant make more of a statement than that. But more than that I think I made a statement*by buying American. Estecially since Here in the bay area almost everyone owns a BMW/Merc/Audi/Lexus.
