Thanks for answering my questions, the answers really aren't in the thread.
until now.I did check Summit Racing and I'm satisfied BrandSport Inc. is my best bet (no PEP Boyz here) at a mere $135 for two sets shipped. Larry @ brandsport couldn't have been any more helpful. He even fixed my botched CC order so it would go through. They are on the way after just a few hours. Thanks again! BTW, I'm really thinking the lights make the car look a little like the terminator.

We'll ahve to make sure get pics up. Did you confirm they are 7 color LED halo rings? Red would be cool with my red car, but I'm definitely alright with blue.

I used the link from this thread when ordering but I didn't make sure they were the 7 LED style. The picture looked like a full ring of LEDs went around it though.
I will try to get at it when they arrive and shoot some pictures but I'm more of a spender than a doer. I've got kits and parts all over the place waiting to be installed. The lights might go to the top of the list because I don't have to jack the car up and get my old carcase under anything.

My lights were waiting onmy door step tonight. They aren't 7 color LED halo's. I'm not sure what's up with the description on Pilot Automotive's website. I know they have a different style that has 7 color halo's. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow.
*EDIT: I called Pilot Automotive and these lights don't actually have 7 color LED halo rings, just blue. The 7 color LED halo's are on a different model driving light: http://www.pilotautomotive.com/Produ...7181&PCID=1057 Last edited by DVS_DAN; 03-31-2010 at 12:40 PM. |

I was working on these damn lights for about 10 hours, trying to get this one angel eye to light up, FAIL. I'll post more pics soon. I did a few things differently. I woulda done a few other things differently after doing it. I'll post up later. It's late and I'm probably drunk, and ready to pass out.

Well it looks terrific!
Mine arrived yesterday from BrandSport. Progress so far is to get one of the two sets out of the box. They look good, good quality but definitely not legal for street use. I guess I can live with that. How did you wire things up? I want the halo on with parking lights and off otherwise. It looks like you have it another way.

Quick setup here. This is what you get, lights, brackets, harness, switch, etc.
![]() Careful with the display wired battery connections. While pulling a couple connections apart, the wires gave first and ripped from the damn connectors. Guess it doesn't matter with the blue wire because they get cut and spliced to the nearby angel eye anyways. Damn, I shoulda been a hand model instead of this damn Engineering bidniss. ![]() First, I pulled the side screws out, pulled the angel eye off and flipped them so the LED's are at the top, under the brim of the hood. I mounted the brackets so the lights could sit back as far as possible. There were clearance issues with the hood if I went forward too far. The inner lights each have only one screw mounted in the front hole of each bracket. Hopefully they're anchored alright, I'll superglue them later. ![]() I jumped the new headlights into the exisiting headlight wires and left the factory plugs. (If I did it again, I would cut the blk and wht female connector pieces with some length of wire off the second wiring harness that doesn't get used. It would have given me some slack to work with.) ![]() I used one of the wiring harness for control of the angel eye operation. I bought a corrugated plastic wire protector that was just the right length for the harness, 6 ft. I routed it from the battery compartment through some hole inside/behind the pass. lights area alongside a bunch of other wires, across the front along the other wires, over to the driver's side lights area. ![]() Then I spliced the angel eye wires into the harness. This is where a problem arised on the driver's side, splicing the tiny ass wires, but they still didn't work when I hand twisted the wires together. The other side was fine. F if I know dammit. ![]() I wired the end of the harness, relay, fuse, battery wire connections, etc. over along the left edge. I pulled the computer out (two 10mm bolts) and hanger fed the three switch wires through the firewall to down under the pass foot area behind a panel under the glove box. (remove the panel: pull out a plastic bolty thing closer to the seats side and a flat square nut thing closer to front of car, left side of panel behind carpet) I pulled the three wires over to behind the center console and to the small plate the cigarette lighter is on because you can pop that rectangular plate out pretty easily and mount the switch there. THEN, you sit back, get drunk, and stare at that stupid F'en angel eye that won't light up when you hook it up to the harness! (It would work with the battery and wires from the box for display testing, only if I touched those wires directly to the female angel eye plug pins!?!?!?) ![]() ![]() I think I'm gonna hook up the white power wires to an angel eye on each side so I have the option of turning on one or both angel eyes on each side. Currently, the white harness wires aren't hooked up to anything (they're meant for the headlights). Last edited by DVS_DAN; 04-03-2010 at 02:35 PM. |

That would be easy to hook up, no harness needed then. You would splice your angel eyes into the parking lights. Problem is, the angel eyes will always be on when your headlights are one because the parking lights are on then. I want to shut mine off if needed. What blue lights Officer Piggly Wiggly?
