The base interior is a bit impoverished considering the $30,495 starting price, much less our $32,980 as-tested sticker."

Why is it that things that they would absolutely HAMMER the Camaro on are just slight inconveniences on the Mustang. Not to mention none of the reviews or magazines bother to point out the fact that they are comparing a 2011 model against a 2010 model. None of them even mention the 2011 Camaro. Granted I don't expect huge differences in the 2011 model but they are just ignorant if they think Chevy isn't going to go back and try to top Ford for the 2011.
That quote was actually kind of damning for the base GT. In writing terms thats a delicate way of saying "The interior is crap unless you get the premium". A delicate writer finds ways of insulting people without being brash, crude and obvious, which is what that writer is doing.

It actually sounds fairly similar to reviews I read of the 1SS interior, which alot of people dont review because it is just that..kind of boring. You also pay a similar amount when getting an Automatic base GT and a 1SS Automatic Camaro.

When 2011 Camaro's start appearing around July or August a full and proper review of the 2011 models of both cars will be done, but for now..this is the best comparison they can do.

They got 13.2 in the 1/4 mile? Hmm, like we all thought. It's a driver's race. Good news for Ford guys, they finally got something that can compete right off the show room floor. It's about freaking time.

Exactly, driver's race and they said it was a 6-speed manual - 13.2@109 and they ran the Camaro SS with the 6-speed manual and got a 13.0@111 so go figure - the video looks more like what a V6 Camaro would run versus a Mustang GT.

I posted this in some other thread, but it got deleted or something. This was a pivotal factor in me buying the Camaro. In this video, the "$50,000" GT500 is only .1 seconds ahead of the SS Camaro. A naturally aspirated car is only .1 seconds behind a forced induction car? Geez, imagine that Camaro with a supercharger...hmmmm. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the 5.0 is not going to be nearly as fast as everyone thinks.

Not that I care if it was, because mustangs are ugly and their owners are @ssholes.

I'm extremely pleased that you cannot refute my post, so you just resorted to being an asshole, but thats what you do.

For a guy that drives Dodge, you seem to have alot to say about Chevy and Ford...

Just an observation. At least you're contributing to the topic of conversation.

You had rags that praised the Mustang GT to the hilt, then it was crap when compared with the Camaro (same mag)..now the '11 GT is out and the Camaro is crap.

Kind of funny eh? the "Awesome to Crap" cycle these magazines put out in order to do their primary goal? (Which is sell magazines)
So now that the 2011 mustang can keep up with the "2010" Camaro it is now crap?? That doesn't make any sense...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the GT500 is much faster than
.1 sec. faster than an SS. Considering it has about 125hp more than an SS one or both of the these things occurred:

1. Bad driver in the GT500
2. GT500 for some reason is not getting the power to the ground.

Don't get me wrong, my SS is my baby, but I got to also be realistic. Oh, and being realistic, while I respect them I would never own a Mustang. Well, I take that back. I would love to have a 1970 Mach I or Boss 302

Well, in THIS test, it was .1 seconds faster. You can say bad driver this, bad driver that in every test, but it happened there.

If I only cared about 0-60, I'd get a crotch rocket. I'm just as interested in the styling of the vehicle, and the Mustang is a major redesign away from potentially competing with the Camaro in that regard.

I thought this was a forum for Camaros? Who cares about the Mustang? I'm sure there is a forum for Mustangs where those that are interested can go.

MotorTrend says they ran a 12.8@110.8 with the Mustang GT and a 12.9@110.7 with the SS and then said the Mustang GT is now in a league of its own, lol. Gonna be some sweet racing when those things finally come out.

79 pages and almost 2000 posts, I'd say there are a lot of people on the site interested in Mustangs and not just those that happen to drive one currently.

Of course, 90% of the posts are the same people making the same arguments/defenses in new (and sometimes not so new) ways.

The GT500 will smoke the SS. The only reason quarter mile numbers are close is because the Mustang is fighting hard for traction. Up top the Mustang will be running away from the SS.
