It's all about the lights. That's the primary reason to get the RS package at all. You could make an argument that the RS is only viable for the LT. That's why there is a substantial price difference between the V8 and V6 RS packages.

Yes, the HIDs and the halos make the RS package worth every penny to me.

Just the halos alone would make it worth half the $1200. Halos are friggin sweet, I've loved them since BMW first started making them a few years ago.

But HIDs move the Camaro up a notch. Classy, elegant, clean bright and full light. To be honest I was a bit pleasantly surprised when the rumors started swirling that HIDs would be offered on the Camaro.

This is not your father's Camaro

the roof ditch molding on my 5 series is painted and not rubber. If it's painted rubber...I'm laying spike strips out for the black suburbans.

probably could but I'm sure it would cost a lot of $$$$ maybe even more than the RS package.... you will have to get the headlight ass'y the electronics that run the HID's and don't forget the HID bulbs as starters....

most HID light assy's from the GM dealers are BIG BUCKS (cadillac, corvette, etc.)

Also...remember when you talk about what already comes on the 2SS, the RS package decreases in price based on what model you're ordering it for in order to compensate for the existing standard eqpt. The HID lights and matching ditch moulding are well worth the effort.

My dealer told me that these headlights alone were $500 each!!!! I didn't do my own investigation b/c I wanted the RS package anyway, but if that's true, you'd be crazy not to get the entire RS package

Are you sure? I don't think it does decrease the price, but that sure would be nice!!!

RS package consists of:
20-inch Midnight Silver painted aluminum wheels
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
Body-color roof ditch molding
Rear spoiler (1LT and 2LT models)
RS unique taillamps
RS badging

So the only thing i want is the HID lights. Both 1ss and 2ss come with 20's, 2ss has a rear spoiler, and it's got ss badging...... so why pay $1200 for different colored wheels(slightly different), HIDs, and badging?

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, or missing something here, but this is my understanding of adding an rs pack to a 2ss.
Because my wife likes the lights..............that is honestly why I ordered the RS/SS
