The camaro is a 12.9-13.1 second car, nothing wrong wtih that time. The mustang is slightly better, 12.7-13.0 second car....It makes sense tho. In the last article with the 2010 mustang it was extremely close, and that gt is a 13.4 second car, no better no worse.

Looks like a good race! I think it's funny that even the Dodge got better gas mileage, lol.

In any case, a good driver in the Camaro, and it's neck and neck. Line up a base model GT, without the 3.73 rear, and the Camaro still wins. In the end, it's good to be alive, lol!! The pony car war is alive and well!

Has there been an announcement from GM regarding these changes? i'd like to check it out that would be cool if they are.

A simple suspension tweak and better gearing and the camaro will be ahead. And the 6.4L speculation SRT8 is going to be a monster.

Don't forget the 2010 camaro was MADE to defeat the mustang, hence the 05 mustang GT in GM's development team building.

I have never seen a stock camaro run sub 13 in person. There was a camaro at the track on Sat. M6 with a cold air induction CAI running 13.2~.

No, I'm just speculating. They are simple changes that can be made to easily give the edge to the Camaro. I have no idea what GM is doing for the '11. They're pretty bad at keeping us informed on future models lol

I agree some new rear end gears would do it some justice.

Most the sub 13 sec runs for the Camaro will come from sea level tracks in cold weather.

BTW the last time I was at the track a Camaro SS with intake and a tune was running 13.1s (similar to what you're seeing).

My best run was 13.4@105... 1,100ft above sea level here in Norman.

DA: 13.2@106

we all know who motortrend is going to pick on top (and it very well should be), but dont ya think its funny how now they say the Camaro is a 13 second car when before it was a high 12 second car to them? I hope you guys now understand a little better how us Challenger guys felt from initial reviews when the Camaro first came out.

i'm sensing a little bias here for the new pony on the block...
I agree with you, all mags do this to motorcycles also..a motorcycle could be praised as the best ever in handling and braking and the next year they will say the same brakes feel wooden.. your only hot when your new kid on the block and that changes yearly unforunately

I wish Ford would have sent the 2011 to Motor Trend for that comparison without the dang glass roof.

24 unnecessary pounds. lol

Exactly, I'm disappointed at the lack of understanding on how drag strip results vary.
