It amazes me how in earlier reviews the camaro was their number 1 choice, but now its below the challenger? Not the new challenger that isn't here yet, but its below the same one it was compared to in all of the other reviews..

I love my SS that said clearly the 5.0 is underrated and is putting out far more than the 412hp Ford states. So it will win most comparos due to being lighter and more powerful. In the end the winner will be what style people like more. Clearly the 2010 mustang was well received but lacked the power and the 6th gear the camaro had yet the Camaro out sold it every month since its release both before and after the 5.0 was announced. Also the mustangs of past were never as fast as the camaro yet they outsold it. Now the tables are turned but GM wont let Fords power lead last for long. The Camaro is a great car and the customer knows that and thats why it's the best selling muscle car on sale now.

This. It happens every year with whatever comes out.

For a long time, it was "camaro this, camaro that", now the pendulum will swing the other way. If you're happy with your camaro, that's all that really matters, right?

If they test a stock Camaro they should test a stock Mustang, NO track pak that only 10% will have.

I agree with this statement, but it seems Camaro's much-adored styling has already become passe to the MT editorial staff:

There is no "track-pack" option on the 2011 Mustang GT, what are you talking about? Less than 10% of Camaro SS buyers opted for a 1SS, should we discount the performance numbers from those cars, too?

I wouldn't worry about what other people think as long as you like your car. I'm quick to admit the visibility could have been a little better and wish it were a couple hundred pounds lighter but it doesn't change the fact that I'm very happy with my purchase. Some people put too much stock in these rags.

By the way, garagelogic, I love your GT500. Very nice.

Kudos to Ford for giving the Mustang the set of balls it's been lacking recently. If you ask me, you can't go wrong with either the Mustang GT or the Camaro SS.
