In my opinion swapping the converter would be a waste of cash.
The big question would be what your intent is to get out of the car. If you are planning on driving the car on the street and just using it for recreational driving, I most definitely would not screw with the converter. The quickest way to destroy drive ability would be screwing with the converter.
I sent my trans to RPM to have the clutches upgraded, I feel for the money this is a worth while investment in the long run. Might as well do it while the trans is laying at your feet anyway.
My present rear gear is a bit of an anomaly. At the time of my build the 3.73 was in the discussion phase. Lingy put a a 3.45 gear in it, as at the time it was the only option. I am getting a 3.73 put together and will probably swap it this summer.
Tire spin is a relative problem. But yet one that can be fixed easily. As with all car issues, to fix em just throw money at em!
Don't expect to eliminate burning the tires on the street with street tires, it's just gunna happen. Leave the computers on if it's a concern. You can achieve max acceleration with minimal slippage. If at the track (drag strip) use rubber designed for this. You can help with putting the rubber to the pavement with different suspension stuff, but at this hp level it is really just a tire issue. It's kinda like a see saw, tires don't slip, enough traction for the hp, increase hp, tires slip, increase traction, tires don't slip. I've got a set of MT drag radials for the strip and I don't think they will have any problem keeping the car stuck to the strip.
Back in 87 I had an 86 Z28. It was carbureted, and DID not have a limited slip (posi) diff. I put nitrous on the stock motor and it would run 12.40 at the track all day. You just have to play it right.
Some of the other Brothers here have played with different street tire combinations and they can give first hand experience on what each has liked and disliked. You might want to consider lighter wheels and a smaller wheel size. I feel that one of the worst things are the over sized wheels. It affects drive ability buy they are popular at the moment. John at Complete Custom Wheel is top notch in my book and has great products!
Good luck Brother, you will not be disappointed with your Lingenfelter commitment. Their workmanship is un-beatable and the experience and knowledge that comes with is without compare!
(tell Kevin Windy says Hi!)
Windy, Thank you for the Illinois welcome to the brotherhood!! You all have a tight, very knowledgeable group that im glad to be apart of soon!!

The more i thought about it the more research i found i realized that i would a lot of traction problems with street tires, a converter and 3:73's. Im not gonna get the converter, however i think the 3:73's are a must with a blown engine that comes stock with 3:27's (especially when i have a 1/8 track just 2 miles from my house; I love the smell of huge Cam's and blown engines from the backyard!!!!!! ). What's your opinion if you don't mind?

I agree with you on the rims and tires and i did choose to have LPE put on the Track Pack suspension along with Pfadt trailing arms. However im in the process now of choosing some rims and tires for this badboy and now i cant decide on them either. I would love to put some 19's on it, but i keep getting told that our rotors and calipers are too big and they wont fit without having them re-done. Any truth to that on here guy's?

I really dont want to have to change out any brake parts other than pad's so if possible can you guys point me in the right direction with some 19's that i can put 305's on.

Thanks again for everything guys!!!

It's official...you've been biten by the mod bug....Conagrats!
I agree with Windy on giving John a call over at CCW he really knows his stuff when it comes to wheels and tires. I have a set of 18's with MT dr's (a tip from Windy) for the strip and 20's sporting Nittos for the weekend cruise. I dont think you will have a problem with 19's at all. I also hear Forgline guys are good, but a bit more expensive.
I am still having traction problems (ls3) but think a sand covered track is to blame, hope to know more this weekend. If I have to I may go with v6 rear brakes and 15's with full bias drag slicks next for a strip setup.

You picked a top knotch builder, LPE is very good at building Camaros about every way possible, ask their advice too.

Blue that is a very cool flashlight!

bws I am running Forgeline 20s and everyone said the oversize brakes will not fit. Lingenfelter tried a set on one of their cars and found out that they will fit. I am really not having much trouble with traction and I have the 3.70 gears. I would stay with the
20s and you can put 305s on them with no problem.

BWS, 19" wheels fit ok.

It's 18's you have to be careful with.

ALL wheels have an issue with clearance to the brake caliper.. make sure that the wheels are able to clear the big brakes.

CCW or Forgeline know what fit the 2010 Camaro in appropriate sizes/offsets.

There are other wheel manufacturers. Everyone on this thread chose either CCW or forgeline wheels. I have CCW's.

I know what you mean it's gonna be tough but I think we'll have to try to deal with it. I still have to make sure my truck will pull this ok before I make it a done deal.
