Hey guys, I need a referral to a really good detailer. Someone or some place that will not screw up the finish with swirl marks. I need some very light, minor scratches buffed out on our car caused by drying it with a non-microfiber rag. My daughter wanted to help me dry the car. She picked up the wrong towel. I was drying the rearend and she was doing the hood. By the time I realized it, it was too late. It's no big deal, I just want it to look like glass again. Has anyone tried http://www.reddevildetailing.com/index.html or Zeibart?

Thanks

Thanks, I'm a bit chicken to try to myself and I live in a town home complex. I can't do it in front of our house. I did watch his videos and really, it's too complicated for me to do and for the cost of having to buy the PC and pads, I can pay someone else to do it. I did buy 3 of Adam's drying towels that everyone raves about and one of the polishing/waxing kits a couple of days ago that I plan on using once the scratches in the clear coat are removed.

Hey if any of you guys that have Midnight silver RS wheels are getting new rims I'd like to talk to you about buying your front wheels. that way I might be able to rotate them front to back plus save some weight too.

Talk to Low bubba (Randy). His IOM POPs like you would not believe. He worked in final prep paint shop for GM and does AMAZING work. I am going to ask him to buff out my truck as payback for the shifter install. I can put you in touch with him. He lives near you, near Franklin or something...

As of right now, my plan is to keep the stock exhaust and get the Kooks LT 1 7/8" headers with high flow cats and get a tune. But, after reading and hearing some of the Borla catback exhausts (been watching video clips here in the forums), I'm thinking of getting either a touring or S-type exhaust.

Can you tell me why you think I should get rid of the resonators instead of just getting an axle-back exhaust? I know this is a noob question, but that's how we noobs learn. I am considering just having IPS put the whole exhaust on when they do the headers. I'm getting rid of AFM with the tune, so the AFM-introduced drone wont' be an issue.

I'd welcome anyone else's thoughts on this too.
Well first off you will LOVE the borla. Very nice, deep muscle car sound but still sounds refined. I had them on my 2007 black C6 and loved them so much I called borla specific and asked how I could duplicate the sound on the Camaro. They said you have to go with cat back "type S" to get rid of the resonators. They block a lot of sound and rob you of power. Now on the L99 you have HUGE cans. The LS3 only has little baby ones so removing them isnt as crucial. Plus if you are going to tune out the AFM, all the more reason to lose the cans b/c their sole purpose it to filter out the sound change from the 4 to 8 mode switch. You will gain more power from them gone. Be ware though your car will be loud. Now loudness is subjective. What one considers too loud my be anothers piece of heaven. It isnt going to sound like a top fuel dragster but with headers, freeflo cats and an exhaust, its gonna get louder. You can listen to all the clips you want on the internet and never know what its going to sound like in real life. I am not trying to talk you out of anything. It will sound AWESOME (IMO). I just wanting you to be prepared, she gonna make noise, esp when you get on it! Good noise though! Oh and with everything you are doing... CAI, headers, cats and exhaust... You will likely be looking at in the area of 425+/- HP and TQ to the tires! Thats my guess! Oh what the hell... why not go with the cam swap while you are at it? hahaha add a little lope to it! Did you hear Drews running at Dougs? He has the comp cam G6X3. Thats what i am getting as soon as I get the cash!

If I were you, and the cars going to be there anyhow, just do it now if you have the money. I hope this helped... and remember, ask me anything, any time. If you dont want to ask in public PM me or I can give you my cell and you can call... Good luck, let me know what you decide!

Thanks for your advice. I'll keep you posted.
I had zero drone with the borla on the Corvette.

No,

I have a lot of squeal with the HAWK ceramics on my dimpled and slotted rotors. Look great, but.... She talks to me at every stop. Brake dust is definitely less but not sure if it s the pads or the rotors that are making her squeal. Who are you having do the calipers? I highly recommend showstopper, but you will need to send him a core charge and exchange or just take them all off and send them to him like I did. more of an issue since you take them off and about 10 days later they come back.

Can't say enough about showstoppers work though. fantastic! Just got my mirror back that I dropped and it looks brand new. With no charge to me. He even paid s/h back to me 2 day air. He has done all the engine bling, calipers and my mirrors (LED). He is doing an radiator shroud now that is in the design phase.

Rotors come off with one small phillips head screw once your calipers are off. Not hard to do any of it. I am happy to help you out. I will come to you if you want to take them off, and send the calipers to him for painting.

Just let me know your ideas/plans and when you want to do everything.

I love my GMPP (aka Borla). From the research I have found it looks like it is the S-Type. So say it is specifically designed for GMPP to have a slightly different sound but most say it is identical to the S-type. Al I know is it has a sweet deep throaty sound that is not over powering in the cabin or at 75 in 6th gear. Very little drone. Only if you get on it without shifting.

Love that Borla sound!
