Let's Go Wings!
|
When I was 16 I had a brand new 2003 Saturn L-Series and my insurance cost for every 6 months (this is when I lived in Michigan) was $1,180. Mine had the 4-cylinder too.
Now I live in Ohio, I'm 22, Have a Supercharged Cobalt SS, 3 tickets on my reacord, and I pay $738 every 6 months. Bottom line it's your age and it's sports car in a big way. Plus rates vary state to state as you can CLEARLY see from my story. With that said, good luck and I hope you can afford it.

I'm 17 and pay over $250 a month for a V6 2002 Camaro. Full coverage of course, but i don't have collision anymore, so it's around $150 now.
So if you think you guys have it bad... Cleanest record. Probably one of the best drivers for my age (not meaning to sound cocky) but i can't even recall how many IDIOT drivers there are on the road |

That price sounds just a little high. Get them to quote it again once more info is out for the Camaro.
I have a feeling safety features will have more of an effect on insurance prices than engine choice. The GTO is a 400 hp car comparable to the Camaros though the GTO has one or two fewer safety features. I priced a few small FWD cars and the GTO was actually cheaper than a Mazda3 for myself. So that should tell you something. That's the base Mazda too. |

Car: Honda Civic 4 Door
Year: 1991 Color: Light Blue Tickets: 3 since i was 16 (speeding ticket used lawyer to get down to non moving violation of broken brakes (hahaha), speeding ticket 71 in a 65, and running a stop sign in a residential neighborhood). Age: 23 Last ticket: 3 years ago Insurance for liability only: 600$/6mo Is this high?: Yea, i should prolly shop around but went with my parents insurer on my own plan just to get credit and stuff. As stated above countless times, it comes down to many many variables which can include color of car, age of driver, driving experience, moving/non-moving tickets (aka speeding ticket compared to brake light), gender, ethnicity (sadly), current income, current residential status, current martial status, current child status...etc...etc...etc. im wondering if im better off to move out and get a small apartment or living at home will get me better rates...thats the pickel. 1700$ for full coverage for 6mon i could deal with, grantid it would suck majorly but its bearable...anything over 2k would be stretching it. |

Tag you are the first one to say that.... I think..
just wondering why? I would like to hear your side of the story. And your reasons. I thought it was roughly that much for all kids my age with sports cars. Thanks |
