That is with the optional 3.31 gear.
I never really trusted magazines #'s, im just going to wait it out and see what other drivers really get, cuz I dunno 5.1 sounds abit too ridiculous but then again I may be wrong

I to want to see customer cars numbers. And their is always the possibility the press car was a ringer.

But I don't think Motor Trend is lying about the numbers they got.

Hell Edmunds ran a 14.0 at 104 mph with their v6 presser.

Those numbers are great for a v6 with a tune or not.

Yeah they are. I want to see how the '11 v6 camaro will run, since rated at 312(not that it makes much of a difference), but if they reduced weight a tad bit. Would be nice to see numbers on that aswell

Well we have v6 camaro with a tune running high 13's, no problem. I saw a lot of times like 5.3-5.5 0-60 with some mods and cold weather... Magazines are just making some advertising to a new ford toys and for me its obviously enough.

When you get into modding that means both cars can mod, and whoever has the most money wins so to argue stock vs mod is just useless.

stock vs stock is how you really compare a car.

It'll be interesting for sure when the rags get ahold of the 2011 Camaro v6 and it's 312hp. Nope 8hp isn't alot at the crank, but since it'll be the v6 hp king, I'm curious as to what the rags will say, see if they flip flop again.

As to what the 2011 v6 Mustangs will run, I think the rags can give you an idea. I mean I've seen 1/4 mile times from 13.7 to 14.2, trap speeds were all in the low 100s. Seems like the car is capable, with the performance package. I've yet to see a review with the standard car, and it's 2.73 rear gear.

You're accusing the magazines of bias because your car of choice didn't win. It's ridiculous, and quite frankly an embarrassing excuse.

Ah, you are definatly the type that if it was reversed you would be going on about how the Camaro is a 13 second car and the Mustang is a 14 second car. The fact is, Motor Trend usually gets abut average times for cars, not the best. So IMHO you WILL be seeing the V6 with performance package running 13.7 and some ownes getting at least a couple 1/10s quicker.

FYI according to GM the 312 HP for the V6 is just because they recertified it, no changes and the preformance should be exactly the same.

Oh and this also shows that cars CAN be underrated even with certification

Yeah, maybe it will. I wrote 3 TIMES: better to wait and see then to be so sure in a things, which need to be PROVEN with a real owners. Just 5.1 looks so stupid, like they take number from they head.

5.1 is very realistic for a car that was tested to run a 13.7 @ 102 mph.
