I have looked at plenty over the last few months.
The proper destruction of brake parts is fun but not in this street muscle car.
It's much more fun in an 2000# Italian thoroughbred!
Or just shoehorn an LS3 into a Miata.
I figure I will have to throw mine around a curvy track at least a couple of times just to say I did. Main drive is on the strip...I really want to figure out how to get into the 11's here. I figure what the hell it's paid for.

I hope to find out this sunday. Car show on Sat, then the strip is only a tire swap away.
They are having a points race on Sat. I havent been able to find out if they are going to have their regular Sunday nite run or not.
Hey you guys did a lot better than I have so far! Keep those times dropping and a roadtrip to northern NM for some schooling is on the agenda.

It will be interesting to see how low that number will go (from the 11.53). Its all about the takeoff!

I see that the extended forecast (for what thats worth), is for 80s and very little chance of rain at the fest.

Hey guy's 'n gals,
The red devil is now home in the garage. Car came out better than I imagined!

I ran the car today.. clutch was slipping.. it's toast. A few people worked on the car till the wee hours on Friday and saturday (Rob and Ivan at Wretched Motorsports, My personal friend dave at his Garage, and Mike at the auto body shop) to get it finished so I could run Today. We decided not to install the clutch yesterday in case we stripped a bolt or broke something so I couldn't run. New LPE Clutch will get installed this coming week by Portsmouth Chevrolet.

I have been on the road since friday early.. I'm pretty beat.

Forgot to bring LOTS of stuff for Autocrossing - like a tire guage, air tank, Setting the shocks to be stiff, etc. Basically I took it easy on the car as the clutch is a goner, and I didn't want to scratch the 2 day old paint.. Did a soft launch and rolled into it after the car was moving. Car performed pretty well. I came in 5th out of 8.. on new street tires with 0 miles on them. Everyone else in the class is on hoosier's - that is good for about a 4 second difference. I was 7 seconds off of the winning car in the class. Car has potential to do quite well once we get it dialed in...!!!! the class leaders have been auto crossing with the same cars over 4 years - that is a lot of tweaking and adjusting. I am pretty happy with the performance for the first time out with nothing set other than the alignment. We didn't modify the front shocks to get all the negative camber that Pete recommended. I will dis-assemble, modify, and align before the next race. Car handles very well - although it needs a set of good Autocross Tires (Hoosier's).

I have a great starting point with the way the car is put together. Lots of people were checking it out and complementing the setup.

Best part of the dey was my little cheer leader! Everyone loved her cheering daddy on! She got to sit in an A MOD car... didn't want to touch the steering wheel! It was pretty funny.

Here are some pictures from today. I will post some better pictures when I am not in the bright sunlight, and car is cleaned up.

Thanks again Pete.. The sway bar definitely made a big difference.

Rob has the old 1167 bushings.. they had 300 miles on them. The front 1167 bushings were pretty much destroyed.. car was way overpowered for them! The 1167HD work well.. no more wheel hop. I'm liking that!

Came out nice 570! I'm sure you're really going to like the ZR1 clutch. Thanks for the stripe info too. I'm checking out my stripe setup Tuesday afternoon, just before it goes to be sprayed.
