Well, if that is the case, then my dealer is lying to me. He told me that my car has been allocated for 2 weeks now and we are just waiting to hear from the factory when its going to be made. However, the tracking website still has me at 1100 (44 days and counting). They keep telling me a different duration of time when a change will be made to the tracking site every time i call them. Its really upsetting me. Especially since they told me it would be 6 to 8 weeks to get the order!!

That is not necessarily what it means, it could still go through...however, it does mean that the order has not been officially accepted by GM yet (only preliminarily)...and time is running out. If it is not @ 2000 by 04/30 it will move to a 2011 MY order (my understanding from extensive questioning).

No, the dealer did not tell me they didn't have an allocation for my car b/c they knew they would lose my business. Instead they strung me along for 8 weeks giving me stories about how production is down, we'll know next week, oh wait, now we'll know next week. I am now told a similar story to FirstCamaro23 that they now have an allocation for it and they will have the TPW in 2 weeks. I am afraid this is another story b/c they know that I have been looking elsewhere to buy one off a lot since they can't guarantee that they can get me a 2010. I think they may be stringing me along again telling me they can get me the 2010 I ordered and what happens if in 2 weeks there's a different story and they don't have a TPW for me? I could possibly lose out on the locates (in other states) that I have found in the mean time. I am told it's better to be loyal to the dealership b/c they can help you out later.

Here is what I would do if I were you:

Hang with your current dealer until at least 04/30 on your order. If it's still at 1100 at that time then it will not be made for the 2010 MY. At the same time I would be looking for lot cars that meet your needs. If you find one in the next two weeks tell your dealer about it and buy it/cancel your order.
