I want more LOL. How about a series of this, not just new cars, but how about some 4th gen F-bodies, 03-04 Cobra, 99-04 SVT Lightning, Any Mercedes with the AMG Supercharged 5.5 V8 or 6.2 AMG V8, or even the monster turbo V12s. How about a ZR1, Viper, or CTSV want more crazy burnout fun

Good lord! I think you want to single handedly destroy the air with plooms of tire smoke! LOL. I enjoy the occational burn out too. I just like keeping the money in my wallet as apposed to giving it to the tire shop every month.

Notice they only went 40 odd ft in 1st on the Camaro before shifting...probably didn't show the run where he tried to ride out 1st and the rev limiter shut him down hard, whereas on the other 2 cars he could bounce the limiter until they had finished spinning in 1st...the owners of the other 2 cars will cry foul because he didn't short shift those cars..and rightly so...Camaro likely would have still won,but I bet the other 2 would have done better if the same technique was used.

He short shifted all three cars. Watch the in car cams...

Yeah the price of tires keeps the proverbial soft boiled egg between the bottom of my foot and the gas pedal lol... Definately not like the old days with my 74 Camaro w/4spd mnl, I had a standing order at the used tire store in town and was what is referred to as a "regular customer"

Where is SSGirl in this discussion. Her husband has first hand knowledge from last Friday. (23sec 1/4 mile due to wheel spin.) Sorry had to bring it up eventually.....

UGH!! It is true. But in his defense he has never done anything like this before and is not a car person. He is a IT guy! I give him props for trying at all!

Umm..no he didn't,not even close....actually the Challenger and the Mustang rode the limiter in 1st basically until the wheel spin stopped...On the Camaro he lights them up and almost immediately has to shift..as the Camaro's rev limiter is a hard limiter...then does a dump into second at a much lower ground speed than the 2 shift on the other 2 cars...this allows it to thourougly break traction in second and coupled with wheel speed it is game on at that point.
Maybe I shouldn't have said he short shifted the Camaro..let me re-phrase he shifted prior to the rev limiter while he rode the rev limiters on the other 2 until they stopped spinning..and he DAMN SURE did not short shift the Stang or the Challenger...
He drove the Camaro completely different...had he used the same technique with all 3 I still bet the Camaro would have won...but the results wouldn't be quite so spread out and dramatic.

The Camaro has the best specs for this competition hands down. Challenger SRT8 would have been a much better choice over the R/T.
