Thats what was implied the l99 auto is putting out 400hp whereas the auto 5.0 is putting out SUPPOSEDLY 412hp when it may be 430plus. Instead they should have compared m6 to m6 trannys as well

I think it's the drivers especially when the 1/8th times were posted in that 2nd vid. My best 1/4 mile run was 13.17 showroom stock on a M6/SS with a 1/8th mile time of 8.63 seconds. The camaro in the 2nd vid ran a 8.86 so it was the driver and not the best run the cars can do.
M6/2SS model Camaros can do 12.9 on the 1/4 showroom stock which is faster than what I did.

The same could easily be said for the 'Stang, however.

Just posted a reply for the 2nd vid.
"Just looked through some time slips and one Camaro driver ran a 8.912 1/8th with a 13.696 1/4 mile. No where near the rated 12.9s that it is capable of. The driver in the vid would have probably pulled a similar 1/4 mile time. As for the mustang driver, I saw a time slip for another Camaro with a time of 8.528 with a 1/4 mile time of 13.094. In either case. The mustang driver in this vid would have still beat my 13.17 1/4 - 8.63 1/8 time but you can see that it was definitely the drivers". Just pointing out that it wasn't the best of the Camaro especially when comparing numbers to all the other time slips posted on this site.

Can we all stop agonizing over the Mustang 5.0!?! Yes, the Mustang is (a little) faster than the Camaro. Better weight to power ratio. You can't argue against physics. That being said, why does this matter so much? The two cars are not that far apart if launched properly, and the Camaro is still crazy fast. Both are excellent cars, and the stock for stock contest should come down to your own personal preference. That tenth of a second or two won't matter unless you race a lot, and if you race a lot, you are going to mod it anyway, rendering these comparisons pointless.

And MANY of the L99 cars have been shown to run sluggish from the factory without a fuse pull etc. due to dealers using 87 in the tanks off of the showroom. |

It doesn't matter... the Camaro's looks are light years ahead of the Mustang.
