in my 2SS I usually got about 16-18MPG in the city. Since I have added the Halltech CAI I have been getting 19-20 MPG in the city!

Just a bit of an off comment, but my buddy came to see me from arizona(to montana) in his 08 vette, and showed me his trip info. He got 27mph. Pretty cool.

2SS with manual trans, 500 miles. I get 18 mpg around
town, lots of stop lights, and just made a trip to Utah and
varied the speed and going from 4th to 6th to vary the toms
and got 23.8.mpg mostly highway with some city.
Made me feel pretty good.

V8 A6 (bone stock)

I'm now closing in on 2k miles, and would say 90% of my driving is city... if not more.

This is awhile back... but I really wouldn't say I get more than 15 mpg on a good day.

(Well now... it's all about perspective, isn't it!)

2SS Auto: I did a recent run....I got just under 24 mpg, primarily highway - and driving like a good nerd boy, since I'm still in the break-in period. That was without any mods. I now have a gmpp cat-back exhaust, but have not done any fuel efficiency runs yet with it. Also, waiting on a K&N CAI to come in. Not sure if that will improve my mpgs.

My 2SS/RS L99 (A6) has 12,700 miles (bought in Sep 09 and have driven it every day since!). I drive pretty much 60% highway, 30% city, and 10% rural.

I average 19.5 mpg or so overall. When I take a 3-hr trip or so, mostly highway, I get up to 24.5 mpg. To do that, I have to keep the speed below 70 mph, on cruise control. Once I get over 70 mph, the gas mileage drops off a bit. On same trip (returning), cruising at 75 mph, I got 23.7 mpg.

On the rare occasion when I do mostly city driving, I've seen my mileage get down into the high 15s (15.7, 15.8 mpg). But generally, I have to try pretty hard to get below 17 mpg.

Now, a few people have touched on this, but I think it's important. You really need to reset the average mileage and average speed pages on the DIC every time you fuel up, if you want to have meaningful readings.

I love this car...who'd a thunk we could get reasonable (even, dare I say it?..."good" gas mileage) in a 400+ hp beast? Win-win for us...thank you GM!

So far I've spent the most money on cleaning products! More than all my previous cars combined!!

i've been following the car's oil life system for the most part- I've never let it get to "change oil soon" but, at 20% life remaining, it is going about 7-7500 miles per change.
do my own oil changes, Mobil-1. costs between $40-55 depending on the promotions that month.
no other maintenance other than all these dang washes and waxes etc!

14.4 according to the car's computer. Almost all city driving, and I'm not a light foot.
