Get the V6 then. But order one, so you can save money in the meanwhile. Plus, then you'll get the exact car you want.

The thing you said that is my reason for not wanting to listen to the other people is "we still have the rest of our lives to get v8s when we can better afford them =)" More specifically "we still have the rest of our lives" I've ALWAYS been a live today as if it were your last day to live kind of person, I'm a thinker (I think about EVERYTHING) and, I've had every option I can think of written down, I've worked my way around insurance, and even got my insurance from an SS down to under $300 a month. I've sat there for hours with calculates (You should see my sheet of paper I got from the dealership, It has the MSRP of every part on the camaro, and what their price is, and I've got pen almost on the whole paper looking at every option I could to save me money, I've got every discount I can possibably get down and how much it will cost monthly, for every option, and took the dealerships sticker price of 39k down to 35k and showed everything to the salesman, and he said I was right on with everything. I've thought this through to the fullest, it's just that final decision. Thank you very much for the comment on helping with the decision, instead of saying that I can't do it. |

This is a train wreck waiting to happen. I agree with the others, that you can't afford the car. You have no steady income to speak of. You are putting yourself behind the 8 ball. Be patient save your money and then get what you want.

Yeah, My dad says as soon as I save up the 5k for the down payment, He'll let me put in the order for the v6 or the v8, whichever I choose, and I was going to save any money in between placing the order on the car, and till the car gets here, in a savings account and using it as a safety net in case something drastic happens and I need to go a month or 2 on whatever spare money I have saved up.

I saw how you budgeted yourself out in the earlier post. You've got over half of your money going towards the car....hopefully you have a decent down payment with money left to spare just in case. Like masterofpuppets said what if you get sick? You'll be putting a burden on your parents...

No i think he said 700 bucks car and insurance... only 400 for the car? Whichever one he priced it was probably at 84 months.

And idk why, I know it's weird, but, I've never liked the 4th Gen Camaros or the Firebirds (My dad used to have a firebird that looked exactly like the 4th gen camaros) or anything with that body I like the muscle cars that look like... Muscle Cars. The old 68 Barracuda was one of my favorites. =P |

no offense to everyone saying "dont get it" but u guys probly already have your cars and dont have the urge and excitement for those of us who dont. im almost in the same position as him cept i DO live with my parents and dont pay rent. i have a good job with a good company(UPS) that doesnt look like its going anywhere anytime soon and im currently underway of ordering an LT Synergy Cammy. why and how?
why: -cus im young. 19 years old and i wanna live it to my fullest. -ive been eye balling the camaro for a long time now and ive been really wanting my OWN car and not some used bs hand-me-down car. -make my bros jealous ![]() -its a v6. 304 hp which is good power but not a lot of it. gass efficient which can help me out in the long run. how: -good job with gud company -i'm being financed by the Credit Union with my dad as a co-signer which gives me 4.6% interest at the payments -im putting the camaro under my moms name for the insurance but im still gonna being paying for it. thats gonna help me save lots of mula as to me putting it under my name -i live with my parents and dont pay rent. unless i go to college and get a pretty freaking good job, i dont see myself moving out and getting a place of my own anytime soon. -NOT A BIG SPENDER. i dont go around spending my money on useless shit nor do i care for wants. i manage on what i spend when i go eat, kick it with my friends and family, and for gas. if u really see urself sticking with ur job or a better one for the next 4-6 years i say go for it. calculate on what your going to be spending and saving(consider EVERYTHING when doing this). also not doing reckless things wud be a big plus too like drinking and doing crazy shit. good luck in your decision.

I know that you really want the car but I see that you want to order in july which means you'll get it in the fall most likely. Now don't get me wrong here because I've wanted a camaro since I was around your age. But if you placed an order say next march, think of the money you could save up and lower your payment more. Then you'll get the car in may 2011. Thought I'd throw that out there for ya, good luck either way.
edit: we can only drive our cars here until the first week of oct before putting them away so I'm assuming you get snow there?

I also am not a very big spender (I've gone months on just $50) I actually live with my GF, but am welcome to stay with my mom if needed (She's actually been trying to get me to move back in, a 6 BD 3 Bath house for her and 3 kids is more than enough) and my dad makes over 300k a year, and will help me if needed, and wants to teach me responsibilities and all that fun stuff (He'd rather me learn the hard way young than to try to force me to go the easy way and fail later on in life.) Financially, in my position, I've already got everything on paper for the next 6 years, and, I can "Afford" the v8, just leaves me with very little, which is why I was looking into the v6. |
