Is this a dumb reason to order vs buying a lot car?

Ok, Im in the market for a base LS Camaro, and I am only interested in black. With that being the case, I am a little paranoid of buying a black car off the lot, that may have been snowed on and or washed and potentially getting a car that has swirls/micro scratches.

Even if the car looks good on the lot, I wouldnt put it past a dealer to wash it up real nice, and wax it, and then once i buy it and wash it, a ton of scratches appear, which im sure they will say werent there when I bought it.

Am i crazy? Has anyone ordered a black car vs getting a lot car for this same reason?

Thanks.

I bought a black because I just had to have it. If you feel that on-the-lot cars are less safe, then don't get it. I ordered mine brand new... I stood for nothing less.

It will have factory swirls and they always get washed on delivery they are not like Porsche's riding around in enclosed trucks.

If you are worried about micro scratches and subtle swirls, try using ICE Liquid clay bar.I was getting the micro scratches on my black SS and was a little depressed, but after the "Ice treatment",I got rid of all of them and then used Liquid Glass over top.
The bottle is transparent and there are three components that visibly mix when you shake it up.Goes on like wax, washes off with water.

CAR

My black 2LT had be located. The dealer only had a yellow SS on their lot and I don't buy yellow vehicles and a SS was out of my price league. They picked me up a black 2LT that had been sitting in Green Bay, WI for a little over a month in the middle of winter since I bought my car in January. Not my choice but had to buy it before my top off bonus thru my gm card expired on February 1st. My car came out spotless except I took delivery on a Monday night and couldn't till if their was any scratches. My car does have a little scratch on the outside mirror but other than that it was flawless.

Black the worst colour for swirl marks, you will get them one way or another. A lot car will have some. Depends on how many times the wash kid scrubs it. If you are that worried about it I would think about a different colour.

I ordered my car because I didn't want one that somebody else had driven hard or wasn't very nice to. I just don't trust other people with my stuff.

That's fine but just remember the one you order will still get washed by some kid making $7.00 with the same rag he's been using for the last month. So to me it doesn't really matter unless you tell them and have them put it in writing that you do not want anybody to wash the car when it comes in. If you find one on the lot just take a camera and do junkman's flash test before you buy. This will tell you if it has swirls or not.

Either way it's up to you if your willing to wait then just order one ,but you might be able to get a better deal on a lot car.
