Does anyone have a setup that will work with the Vortech supercharger? All the cans I see mount right where Vortech mounts the coolant recovery tank.

With a Vortech, Paxton, Procharger or Turbo application you need a can that has 2 checkvalves in the outlet chamber. This will allow the crankcase to get the vacuum from the intake manifold when not in boost, and automatically close the intake side and use the vacuum from the upstream side of the head unit when in boost.

With a Maggie style blower the standard can will work as it pressurizes after the TB, not before.

As for mounting, all you need to do is find a spot it will fit and plumb the lines to it.

OCCs help to eliminate excessive crank case oil blow by that gets sucked in to the intake system of our cars. this is a bad thing.

getting a catch can helps to eliminate a lot of that by letting the crank case oil blow by go to the catch can and not in to your intake.

If this is such a big deal then why wasn't a catch can put in at the factory?

Is this true for most cars about the excessive crank case oil?

Yes.....

And that sucked because I kept trying to order one for a good 6-8 wks but they were always "at the powder coater". Once they finally got them in and ready to go it was....oh by the way they just went up to $140+$15 shipping. Sucked! but at least I have one now.

So what cans have this check valve?

All modern cars & light trucks have this issue....we see it as we are more intune with our engines as performance car owners....but even Mercedes, etc have this issue. The factory will NOT put a device like this on since it adds another maintanance step that owners in general will not welcome.

Only the RevXtreme Performance & Engineering units have the integrated PCV/check valves in them.

because the morons from GM think that it's acceptable to get a "moderate" amount of oil blow by in the intake system. but as many people know, the term "moderate" can be defined very broad.

some people don't understand how bad it is to get oil inside your cylinder wall(s). oil doesn't burn too well which means over time it will start to leave all kinds of nasty deposits and film in places where it should never be.

I put one on my L99, and you need much more hose due to the travel distance. It is already catching oil, but I hope the travel length does not hinder the performance.

Your correct, but it is not just GM...it is ALL, Ford, Chrysler, Imports, etc. Most domestic V8's it is considered "acceptable" to use 1 qt per 1,000 miles. Crazy.

Distance will not hinder the RevX can at all and anyone planning on an alternate mount just specify when ordering and they will include longer hose for you.
