EXactly what's so special about the RS package.
I am saving up right now for hopefully a 2SS. I am debating on whether or not to get the RS package. I do like the HID lights, but I am not much of a wheel guy. I only think about wheels for whether or not the tire's flat and when the mechanic says I need new tires or brakes. Is there any real advantage with the larger wheels? I will never be racing it.

I'm sure you can work something out with your dealer and get smaller wheels on your SS.

I got the RS for the better head lamps, colored weather striping and the fogged rear lamps. The 20s were just a cool bonus to me. It was worth it in my eyes.

I would have regretted not getting the RS package.

With the 2SS, the only significant addition with the RS package is the HID/halo lights. You get the same wheels, just painted a different shade of silver.
So if the better lights are worth $1200 to you, get the RS. btw, I have the non-RS with the halogen lights, and it is very difficult to read street signs at night. PS, all SS's have 20" wheels to clear the mammoth front brake rotors. Nothing smaller will fit over the anti-vibration weights they use now.

Yeah all SS's come on 20's,the RS package changes the wheel finish to midnight silver, adds HID headlights, bodycolored molding-On the LT it adds that plus the 20 inch wheels and rear spoiler, which is also standard on the SS....

You can get aftermarket HIDs very reasonably.

Aren't the taillights darker on the RS models too?
I'd totally get the RS package. |

Don't Like it? Suggit.

Headlamps are the major difference, but I would definitely have a look at the body-colored "roof ditch molding" that comes with the RS package... Without it, you have two black stripes running down the roof on either side, just above the doors. Just doesn't look good IMO

+1 all of the features are nice but one important one, to me anyway, is the body colored weather stripping along the roof line.
