Add Oil or Not in my L99 ?

I'm about to go up in the Mountains and winding Roads of Arkansas ( Eureka Springs ) this coming Thursday-Monday . I have 2 other cars both Vettes that will be going and we will be doing some good old fashion backroads driving !!!!!!!!
One of my friends has a LS6 in his Vette. He told me I needed to get on here and ask the folks more knowledgeable with LS3's/L99's a question.

He said LS1's and LS6's are known in large curves/turns for the oil to move from side to side therefore at times the car isnt getting oil he said people have been said to add half a quart of oil to there cars to prevent this I'm wondering if I need to do the same.

Right now my car has 1,691 miles on the odometer all break in miles on the original oil ( I have a oil filter magnet on the filter to catch trash and seperate it from the oil ) when I return it will be going in to the dealership within the next week to have the Oil changed for the first time.

Do I need to have any concern about adding oil to my car so the oil doesnt do what he is speaking of doing ?
I dont know if LS3/L99's are in the same boat as LS1's and LS3's

Thanks David

One of the upgrades to the LS3 over the LS1-6 was oil control in the pan, unless your flat out racing I don't think you will have an issue.

Ted.

the oil pans in these cars are much bigger also with baffles inside to control oil sloshing around. i don't think your going to have a problem

I had an LS6 Z06 and I always kept it 1/2 qt over or so for hard cornering.

But completely different animal. Those cars can do a G cornering, a Camaro will come no where near that without serious modifications. Plus, the LS6 held a bit less oil, 6 qts if I remember.

Short answer is no.

As long as the car is stock, you're fine. There are already 9 quarts in there, and I'm sure GM was smart enough not to build an engine that gets oil starved in corners (since they don't like replacing engines under warranty). Besides, overfilling a crankcase with oil can be as bad as underfilling it.

David,

Just as all have said we are LIGHT YEARS ahead of where the LSx series engines started out.

Go enjoy your car and we look forwards to working with you with your new baby!
