We can offer our facility at a cost that will be the most affordable option to the organizers and thus those attending.

We have 2 chassis dyno's on the property so that there could be a dyno shootout going on at the same time as drag racing and a car show.

Our 1/4 mile dragstrip is at our complete control and we can prep it and run it whenever we want to.

Our facility is located right on I-10 about 45 minutes west of Houston. We can have the drag racing, car show, dyno shootout, vendor displays, group photos all in one location.

There are 3 great road race tracks that are not far away for those who would want to do that. Texas World Speedway, MSR and Harris Hill.

We have complete flexibility on scheduling and running the event. We own the track, the dyno's and the entire 143 acres of our facility.

One of the biggest reasons is that our Houston Camaro Club could help organize and make for a great event.

I suggest that Camaro5 consider doing 2 events each year. Feel free to use our facility in either the fall or spring time. Then have an alternating event on the west coast and then the next year do it on the east coast. With our place as the one where it is right in the middle of the country.

Houston also has direct flights from most major cities and international cities. So enthusiasts from outside of the USA could make it for the event as well.

We are willing to invite the organizers for CamaroFest to fly in and visit our facility and see it in person. This invitation includes 2-round trip plane tickets and hotel rooms. You could meet with the local Camaro club in our conference room at our shop while you see the rest of the facility. You will be impressed with the entire operation.

Please let us know if we can help.
Thanks for the offer John.

And I apologize for not being able to meet up with you guys at the fest. You were one of the few I didn't get to shake hands with.

My apologies.

Right now we are leaning to a west coast event for C5F II...

More to follow.

- The H-Town Camaro Club along with San Antonio and Austin Crew would be able to provide major support for this one. The club is on-board 100%
- 7 different Hotels in Sealy including 2 Holiday Inn express'...
This should be a viable option...

You bring up some excellent points and this facility should be considered in the top three options based on the support and resources alone. I imagine the decision will come down to how far West the Moderators decide to go. However, if some of the other west coast locations don't pan out for one reason or another, then hopefully they'll take you up on your offer...

That part of Canada that dips down below the 49th is much closer than any other part as the crow flies.

We are 4000 miles wide up here. It is 2243 miles one way from Vancouver to Dallas. Please don't think Canada is just Southern Ontario. ( The Golden Horseshoe)

Trust me I race all over the eastern US and a lot of tracks act like they could care less if you were there, even events with much higher priced entry fees. Some tracks don't even treat you as if your are the CUSTOMER.
This exactly what I have found on the Eastern US as well. SGMP is on top of thier game.....you are not just another number to them.....they consistanly roll out the red carpet.

It isn't?

Seriously though, no matter what, its going to be a long trip for most Canadians and it will be impossible to find a good location for everyone. The biggest Canadian problem, I think, will be for those from the Montreal area. There are quite a few of them but not much interest in a north-east C5 fest. Residents from BC would be able to attend a west coast event, perhaps in California, Nevada, or Arizona. It won't be close, but it is a lot closer than Texas

Great location, great time of year, just my two cents.
I checked out the link for the Nashville Super Speedway and the FAQ section and this is what I found:

Question: When is the drag strip going to be open?

Answer: At this time, the drag strip has no "timeline" per say, it is scheduled to be completed as part of the phase II building stage and that date has not been assigned.

Indianapolis, IN would be the ultimate place and they are used to motorsport events! We would be welcomed with arms wide open.

Add Colorado to that list. I drove there for the Pontiac/Oakland (POCI) meet but the elevation can play games with tuning!

Since it appears ya'll are leaning farther west, what about the Phoenix, AZ area? The weather is near perfect around March/April and it would be a middle ground for the California, Nevada, Utah, and Texas groups.

I like Kansas. The weather should be right around April/May for good track times. It is also centrally located. On the other side, I have never been to the west coast. It would be fun. I like abygale will be there regardless. I had a blast coordinating the drive and meeting tons of people.

I wonder how long of a caravan we could get by the time we reach the other side of the states. It would be one hell of a ride.
