What DOES bother people, at least in my opinion, are 'shoot from the hip' statements like " GM screwed us with the price! " -- (and I just made that quote up -- I'm not attributing it to any one person...) or ".....the car needs to have 550 horsepower and come in at $25k!!......" -- neither of those 'thoughts' have been well thought-out........

The good news? The decorum on this site -- and a few others is well maintained.........and I hope it will stay that way. There are other sites, however, with an 'anything goes' attitude including horrible language and behavior best associated with a couple of street thugs........that, to me is unacceptable and I don't go to those site anymore because frankly, I don't want to listen to such rubbish...........

We want your feedback! Just 'think' before you type -- and keep it friendly.

(think of it this way: just before you hit 'send' -- ask yourself: would I send this email to my Grandparents or my Preacher/Priest?)

For all those people that like to complain about us closing threads, editing posts, and telling people to knock it off, let me let you in on something...

1. Threads are closed NOT because the subject itself is bad or improper (only in very RARE cases will that EVER happen......and I'm literally trying to think of a case here...). Threads ARE closed because people get out of hand, let their emotions get the best of them, and can't handle themselves properly when they type before clicking the "submit post" button.

2. Another reason certain threads will get closed? ...when there are multiple threads covering the same topic...and the same complaining (NOT constructive discussion) continues. WE as a whole do not want to keep reading material like that on the boards. Evidence? The multiple posts criticizing the thought process going into that OP's repeated topic. If you don't like something, feel free to voice a concern. But, we've gone over this multiple times....DO NOT get carried away with complaining....my next point explains why.

3. A very important aspect of this site... we want to see GM employees here. Who wouldn't, right? But, the reason we want them here is really rather simple. We want them to be able to read our likes, dislikes, wants, and criticism. That is how we get what the majority of us wants, right? ....like the polished wheels Scott mentioned? If GM employees (such as our good friend Scott) were not around?....I'd like to see how we get those polished RS wheels then!

This should be pretty easy to understand. But, people seem to love to complain...and do it in a rude and thoughtless way. People don't like to read that. GM employees don't like to read that. GM employees, along with our members, will shy away from that type of "rubbish." THIS is why some threads have been closed. THIS is why we run things the way we do.

We will not have...

Again, this is simple to understand. Either we all take part in the polite discussion with GM employees and all of the wonderful members here, or those not agreeing to the manner in which we run the site will be shown the door.

THIS SITE WILL BE KEPT CLEAN. THAT IS NOT A REQUEST.

X2 - I've come close a couple times to deleting but hoped people could keep a more open mind and think before typing. I, personally, didn't want to see a few points 'Father posted in his last post because I was affraid some of the posts I'd read would not come off as constructive - just mean, disrespectful, and such. If we don't keep things clean as a community GM won't stop in and think about our constructive criticism; they'll just ignore us altogether. I'm completely behind Tag' and the other Mods' on this.

Funny,

The stop bitching thread has more bitching than anywhere.

I'll just say that, there should be respectful, intelligent feedback here.

If no one speaks their mind, this is just a GM-run propaganda site with ZERO credibility, and they know it.

When people say things like 550hp for $25000, please ignore them.

When someone types RANT ALERT, look away if you're tired of bitching. We all get tired of it sometimes, that's why there's RANTS - Look away, and quit bitchin' about the bitchin'.

There is a big difference between constructive (or maybe not so constructive) criticism and out right complaining about anything and everthing. I am relatively new to the site, (just joined a month or two ago) and have been reading the posts for several months now. The information that everyone has provided is great. We know more about this car than the dealerships thanks to the members and contributors. Of all of the sites dedicated to the Gen5 or the Camaro in general, this is by far the best; but ladies and gentlemen, it is time to stop the COMPLAINING. The car is what it is… and it is an unbelievably beautiful car. Don’t you think that there has been a great deal of nit-picking going on regarding this vehicle? I read it everyday…the shark-fin antenna is ugly, the price is too high, can’t get leather in the 1SS, no blue for the SS, no white at launch, no HUD at launch, not enough options, too many included items, don’t like the packages, wheels too big, wheels too small, the cost of the RS package, the length of the stripes, the ambient lighting, (did I forget anything?)…Oh…and for God’s sake, stop with the no Z28 business, (for now). The car is what it is. I believe that GM does gain valuable information from what we post, but they can not incorporate everything that we want in to the cars in the first model year, nor would they want to. By constantly criticizing the folks at GM, they may just say enough is enough and depend on focus groups composed of non- enthusiasts for their information....None of us want that. I know that all of this has been previously addressed, and I apologize in advance for the repetition, but please…PLEASE, think before you post blatantly negative items and feel fortunate to be able to get the car that has 95 percent of everything that you wanted, and probably quite a few things that you really didn’t expect.

Just my opinion…I could be wrong.
