Clutch restriction issues

Since there have been a bunch of us havign issues with the clutch sticking in normal driving conditions, and also with it sticking on the track... I went ahead and asked Summit Racing what they thought of the issue.

Here is an article that refers to the 4th gen that they thought may help us all out:
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/ho...021/index.html

It seems there is a restrictor in the lone which can cause a sticking clucth after repeated and heavy use. I was curious if any thought we may also be having this problem? Perhaps this is the cause and not really the reservoirs.

Interesting, I just got the new GM redesigned pressure plate, if that don't work, this can't hurt.

This wouldn't be a big issue if it was only happening to people whom are beating on their cars or racing them. It becomes a big deal when I have clutch sticking issue when I am first pulling out of my garage!!

There is something not right in some of our systems. Now if that is the shared reservoir or a restriction in the flow, that remains to be seen, but I would love to see somebody try and find out.

I didnt think they did anything with the pressure plate. I think the reservoir change and the line restriction are our two lost likely culprits... But I do not even know if there is a line restriction.

I don't know for fact either, but I do know the part number changed for the pressure plate, my dealer was told the pressure plate has been redesigned and GM intends this is their fix. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=78079&page=3

That article is on the 4th Gen Camaros. I don't think the new one is the same system is it?

That is the thing... I don't think anybody has ripped into it enough to know yet. But it was a major issue on the 4th gen, so even Summit Racing felt that we should be told about it just in case!

I have this problem a lot. GM already has changed the master and slow along with the pressure plate. Now it is worse so they are changing the master again. Should be getting the car back later this week. Having some other things done to it also.

But I ma take this article to the tranny guy and see what he thinks. He's been working with GM about this issue since the car has been in several times already. The regional GM rep is also supposed to take a look at it this week.
