It wouldnt even pull itself into the garage. i had to reach down and pull the pedal up with my hand because just trying to cycle the clutch did nothing.
Really GM you think they would have figured a thing or 2 out considering the 98-02 Fbody's

I measured 4 four inches from the floor to where it starts to engage.

If you are putting in a supercharger...don't even mess with going to the dealership...even the upgraded clutch probably isn't going to stand up to the added hp. Do what others have suggested and spring for the LPE clutch and take your trans out once versus twice (once to put in the replacement GM clutch and again to put in a clutch that can handle the extra hp).

Here is some info I think you all might find interesting!!!

This is all according to RAM Clutches tech/sales:

It looks like the early LS3 cars are using an old style of the throw-out bearing. There was a revision by GM which allowed for more travel. The only way to tell which you have is to look at the part number on the unit itself.

The old one wil be XXXXX-1
and the new is XXXX-2

The 1 and 2 is the only difference. Again the -2 will have more travel which would help prevent some of the sticking issues we have been experiencing.

Just thought you would be interested in that info. The lines etc... are all the same, just the bearing is different.

If you want to get the new RAM bearing kit that will replace all the lines as well... That is the route I am going.

Ok, so just got back from the dealer and they are ordering all the parts to replace the clutch. Someone else posted these:

12571611 Flywheel
11569956 Flywheel Bolts (6 required)
12557583 Pilot Bearing
12561465 Pressure Plate Bolts (6 required)
24255748 Clutch / Pressure Plate Kit

One of the parts, not sure which, i was told is a new part, but GM was trying to use up all the existing parts before changing to the new one. We'll see! She should hopefully be going in for the upgrades later this week.

The pressure plate is the new part!! I dropped mine off this morning and they got the stock clutch out and putting in the revised kit when it comes in tomorrow morning. Hopefully will pick it up tomorrow afternoon!

TJBUSA what is the breakin procedure you are using? are u waiting 200 or 500 miles? or a tank of gas before you try it out? Im going to make sure mine is broke in properly and i cant wait to see if the new parts fix the problem!

Yeah I am starting to be convinced that it is the old bearing that si causing these issues. I am going to put in the new RAM unit and not a seperate reservoir right now. Then i am going to play for a while and see if it i sfixed...

I will still do the seperate reservoir in the future, but I want to try to fix this piece by piece so we can identify the real issue.

I now carry the RAM products and will be able to hook up anybody who is interested. Stay tuned for an update this weekend, or at least on Monday about how it all works.

Sorry, ignorant about clutches, where is the throw out bearing? What part - in the clutch plate?

I ask because my parts are in and when I mentioned the new throw out bearings, the service guy didn't exactly know. He thought it would be in the new clutch parts already. I'd prefer not to make this a comeback visit Tomorrow is install date.
