I'm seeing a lot of talk about east coast/west coast/central location, but no one is making an actual suggestion for a better venue (I'm not sure there's one out there, but lord knows, I've haven't been everywhere, so....)

Is there a "better" location with a 1/4 mile dragstrip, road course, etc. all at one facility that will be as accomodating and gracious as SGMP?? If so...please tell us about it!!!!

And while I'm asking...how many of this year's attendees would not have made the trip had it been out west? I know I couldn't have made it. I might have gone central country, but definitely not to Vegas or Cali.

Not voting because CENTRAL is not listed!! Preferably south central

If no where possible to accomodate in central US vote passes by default then to East coast back in valdasota. Looks like u guys had a blast! an

I'll go anywhere, but I think the argument of how many attendees this year wouldn't have made it is a poor one. There were over 200 people on the west coast that would have been able to go if it had been further their direction. Not even talking about on the coast, just... closer.

Personally, I vote that the 2011 fest be held in Topeka. This has nothing to do with personal driving distance, because I'd gladly drive 1200 miles (again) to either coast. I just think a more central location is the most fair, and Topeka has a full road course instead of just an autocross in a parking lot. Just my .02 though.

I feel compelled to add...

Let's keep in mind that these organizers and participants have already established some GREAT rapport and relationships with SGMP, and there is something to be said for building on what has already been started.

Also, if you feel so strongly that it should be moved, please be willing to step up and work your butt off, because that's what these guys did, and I think it's unfair for us to ask them to organize something from scratch every year at a new venue. I mean no matter where it is, there will always be some who cannot go.

Sorry to go on and on, but I think that the guys that did all this work are getting over criticized for the choice of venue, when "ya gotta go with what ya know" so to speak. And those of us that were there can attest to the fantastic weekend that was the 1st Annual Camaro5 Fest!!!

Guys...

We love the fact that you all are so enthusiastic about C5F2 and how you want to help us in deciding where C5F2 will be held. With that, I think a central location is also a pretty important location to consider. If you are going to consider East and West, you have to consider central as well.
