clutch issues, need some advise.

has any one had trouble trying to shift to second gear? seams that at times when flooring it, i try to shift to second gear and the dam thing wont engage, thus making a grinding noise.

no sir, i've never had trouble shitting into second gear lol lol. but my car has done this since day one in 2nd and 3rd, i just deal with it. clutch fully engaged, it'll grind every time. regardless of how slow or fast i shift.

Could it be a timing issue?? I have on occasion released the clutch faster than my arm as I've shifted. Basically a missed shift. Just a thought.

There is an issue with the clutch sticking... It is not just you, it seems like there is an issue with either a restrictor in the line somewhere as was in the fourth gen, or an issue with using a common reservoir.... could also be some crappy throw out bearings!!

I plan to replace some stuff and find out!

so is this a common happening or a problem with a hand full of camaro's? this usually happens at high rpms

Wouldn't this be related to CAGS as explained here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76514
Just wondering.

My second gear and first gear feel notchy at times. My clutch has stuck to the floor on some hard launches also!
I took it to the dealer today and they are putting in a new GM revised clutch pressure plate and new clutch. Will pick it up tomorrow afternoon!!

Tell them you want to make sure you have the new throw out bearing as well!!

There is a newer version that the part number ends in -2...
This newer version has a slightly longer travel which I feel is contributing to a great deal of the clutch issues out there. I think the stock one lets the clutch stay engaged just slightly, and therefor overheats it and causes the issues.

im gonna ask them for the part numbers! They looked in the computer and got the new revised gm parts. That means they should have got the new bearing right? thats y i have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up bc they had to get it shipped. They said it I will get the new pressure plate and new clutch. Hopefully its the new bearing also!!!

It may not be the new bearing... They may not just replace that unless you have asked. But I hope they do, and you should look at the papers when you pick it up and let us ALL know what they did to "fix" it.

yea i will! I got a hook up with a dealer and they are doing the warranty work with me having some mods that easily void my warranty so i dont see y they wouldnt. I told them about the pressure plate and they said they would change it and put a whole new clutch in also.. what ever it needs!! Ill have to ask about the throw out bearing before they put everything in. The parts come in tomorrow so i need to address this before they put it together bc they will get the part if they havnt ordered it already! ill get the list of the parts when i pick it up!!!!!!! if i forget to post them PM me tomorrow after about 8pm if i havnt already!
