My argument on why we can't have 2 per year is vendors and GM. The turn out would not be the same and you can't guarantee GM can make it to both. You also would need twice the people to help plan the event.

Now I know I am just one opinion, and many will disagree, and to some it isn't fair, if it's on the west coast next year I won't think it's fair, so I see everyone's argument over there.
Not true. I don't know about Vegas geography, but Angeles crest, Pacific Coast Highway, and Santiago Canyon Road come to mind as ideal cruise locations in California.

There are many of us on this side of the country that would have loved to help out in the first C5F, and would love to help in the second. Is it fair to not give us a shot?

I forgot to add in my post, yall are already doing your own things, didn't yall just put together something where 126 cars came??? Can't you(not you Brando, but in genereal) just be happy, just because it wasn't a "Camaro5Fest" doesn't mean it wasn't a great event. And imagine what you could could be put together with more time to plan?

Didn't you state in a previous post that you were against two Fests? You're contradicting yourself.

Yes, we do have meets out here. Sometimes they are big, and everybody has a great time. However, none of them are Camaro5fest. While we do receive vendor support occasionally, it pales in comparison the the kind of backing and attendance of an official Fest. GM is is far less likely to come to an event not deemed "Camaro5fest".

And couldn't you just have a great time setting up your own meet in the event that C5F became a traveling show? Sound fair?

Can anyone honestly think of a better place to have a car event than southern California?

not really, because we had it hear already, and nothing can compare, the west events can continue to get larger, but we have something to go by now, and smaller meets would never compare

You have nothing to compare it with, there has only been one Fest. Who's to say that if we lose 10 east coast sponsors, we won't have 10 more in the west waiting to get in on the action? Vortech, Defendorworx, STILLEN, and many more performance companies are based on the West Coast.

Your argument that we should be satisfied with our own meets without calling it C5F is a selfish one. Even if the moderators decide to hold it on the East Coast, I highly doubt they would take that selfish reasoning into account.

is it not selfish that you want it moved?? that argument really can't be used because everyone will want it as close as possible to them.

I don't want it moved to my back yard per se, just closer to this side so that everybody who couldn't make it last year can still have a chance to attend a Fest. Vegas works, Reno works, heck even Texas works. Doesn't seem selfish to me to want the whole family in on the act.

The selfish part is expecting us to be content with our own small meets so you don't have to fly out without your car.

This is exactly why I think Topeka would be an excellent place. The scenery isn't bad, there's lots of open area to organize a cruise through, the track has both a drag strip and a full road course, its within two days from just about anywhere in the US and its closer to our canadian members.

As for it being in my backyard, yes its closer to me than GA but seeing how I'm planning on moving to Washington in a few years it can't really be considered my backyard from there. But then again, I'd make the drive from Washington to Georgia, as long as I could get off work.

This nonsense that the vendors won't support the event if it moves around is silly. They'll go where the action is; the east, west, midwest...whatever. There are a MASSIVE number of performance vendors in the west and in California in particular. A west event would get an amazing number of vendors.

If those who went to the first fest want to go back there next year and relive the glory, go for it! Nobody is stopping you. But don't expect that the entire rest of the country is going to just sit back and say: "We wanted to go but couldn't because it was too far away but sure! It's okay for us to have nothing official because you people had such a wonderful time the only thing that really matters is you have that exact wonderful time again year after year...just you guys. The rest of us will be quiet and pretend we don't matter because it's all about you guys."

I voted central because I want EVERYBODY to have a reasonable chance at meeting together from not only the U.S. but Canada as well. This includes ALL THE PEOPLE who went to SGMP. I want everybody to be able to get together. It's really sad to see some of the posts coming from a small number who seem to care about no one but themselves.

I'm also astonished at the complete lack of faith and confidence in the organizers who did such a great job with the first fest, to be able to have a second one SOMEWHERE ELSE and have it be as fun if not even more so than the first one. They'd never done one in Valdosta before either yet looked how it turned out. People don't think now that they have some experience they can't do better next year? And also now that they've proven themselves you don't think GM and other vendors haven't noticed and aren't going to start making plans early to attend the next one? Now that they know what these guys and this member community can do, there WILL be a strong vendor presence no matter where they have the next one.

Geez have some faith! A west event will pull mostly the west and midwest the way the east event pulled mostly the east and midwest. A midwest event would pull everybody from everywhere. I would love to have it in the west but I'm not being selfish and voting that way because I'm considering that OTHERS might like to go too, so I voted central.
