This is some thread. It's even worse than I first thought. after the first two pages it has nothing to do with the camaro beating the mustang again. I've learned a lot about mopars though.

But the thing is that the Camaros and Mustangs are getting just about the same numbers in the real world as the mags got, but we are supposed to believe they were off on the Challengers by a good .5 second?

I'm sorry but when I see a number run 13.6 and then they correct it for would, coulda, shoulda. I don't count the correction, because bottom line is THATS NOT WHAT YOU RAN. Now if you want to go somewhere and achieve those results then more power to you but as I see it you ran a 13.6. Otherwise I'm about to take my highest runs and then adjust them to elevation levels in New Orleans which is below sea level.. lol

an UNMODDED (actual stock) Mustang has already run 12.8 and 12.7.....and the Camaro weighs closer to 250lbs more.

i've let a close friend of mine try my car, who has hundreds of passes under his belt from old to new muscle cars and, he even has trouble getting those just-right launches. he says the first mod i should do is get rid of the junk that comes stock and get a real performance tire then worry about the rest. there is no question that the SS and the new GT are quicker than the R/T...just to clear that up folks. just, the R/Ts are not as slow as people make 'em out to be.

Where I race I have be seeing stock SS's run 12.7 on a constant basis and I have also seen stock 2010 GT's running 13 flat and 13.1, but I know they aren't on these forums.. So be careful how you state things as facts.. Just let it be known that's as far as YOU know.

Yes, what I am saying is that on average, the magazine times for the Challenger R/T are wrong. Period, dot, end of sentence. Challengers are running faster than the magazine times claim. Hell it happened at Camaro5 Fest just a few days back, a stock R/T 6 speed ran a 13.5 win against a SS..
