a lot of people buy new cars and put new rims and tires on them. i dont see much difference here. For example, even the summer tires for the 2011 Mustang are miniscule. Id love to see what they can do with wide rubber. If i was in the market for a new GT id skip the summer tires and rims and go for a design i preferred (even though the optionals DO look bomb) and go with a tire noticeably wider than 255's.

you think it might be the Variable valve timing? Im thinking it has more lowend power than the 6.1 which is where the SRT's were lacking.

So the guys plunking down an extra $10k for the SRT are just idiots then, right?

I'm getting some drag radials for mine this Sat. I'm going with 275s for the rear.

the SRT's are still faster and the 426hp number still looks better, but the performance gap between them isnt that big. Especially the ET's from what ive seen.

I agree, a fellow church member has a Challenger r/t 6 speed and I don't beat him by much with my 300 SRT8. 1 to 1.5 car lengths at most. Sometimes were dead even on the launch. However, I needed an oil change then but i'm not trying to make excuses. I love em all. Just my .02..........

Nope, they still get the Brembos, SRT specific interior/seats, Alcoa Forged wheels, most of the R/Ts options as standard, and a beter suspension setup. It's funny though, i am working deals at a local Ford dealer on a couple 2010 GTs and am arguing for the CHallenger I love them all though!

Drove the six-speed once...very slick, but does that almost make up for the 63 hp difference in your 300?

i believe its a 51hp difference.

now subtract drivetrain losses from auto to stick and its a little closer.

and then slight weight advantage and its a tiny bit closer.

did you guys see the trap speed MPH on the 6 cylinder Mustang?? 104MPH wow thats knocking on 400hp v8 L99 territory (most of the MPH's on the "1/4 mile list" are in the 105MPH range for L99's)

You know, that is a pretty impressive race, and yeah, the Mustang is a nice car with some pretty significant hp...however, they had to BUILD a car to compete with the Camaro, because the GT wasnt cutting it...and the higher perf cars also had a higher pricetag. Props to Ford for the 5.0....but damn it feels good to have those Mustang drivers eat it again! YEAAAH BABY!
