Hey Nuptal.......
Thanks for the heads up on the TAs. I was trying to deceide between Sphon or BMR and was leaning towards Spohn just becasue they were cheaper (both Mfgs look like they make great products) until I saw the Del-sphere stuff. ![]() Once I saw the video on how the Spohn TA with the del-sphere ends work I was SOLD! These things look like the shiz-nit.....I've got a pair on their way and I'll do an install and review once I get them. It'll probably be a few weeks before I can get to the track again though. That's when the true test will come in. I'm suprised Spohn isn't a bigger presence than they are. Here is some links to the video just in case no one has seen them. http://www.spohn.net/shop/2010-Chevr...ontiac-G8.html http://www.spohn.net/delsphere/

I've got the barton shifter so the shifts would be quick, damn sound inviting if it weren't for my fear of the cv's. Oh well there will be plenty of time for that once I change them out.

Actually....wouldn't it be better to break the cv so that you would get the ugraded ones under warranty?

I didn't void it but if it blows at the track they aren't going to warrenty it. And then it opens a whole can of worms. Not only with the dealer but with the wife too.

Even if you broke it at the track....ok....get a tow home, call Dealer and tell them it broke and to come pick it up from your house. I don't think they will interragate you where and under what conditions it broke. "I was out doing some spirited drive, shifted gears....and snap"......end of story. Now the wife thing.....I can kinda understand that. The way I look at it is as long as I'm not over abusing it and I've only got very basic mods I should be okay for a while. I'm just saying....go out and have some fun. There is a good chance you're not really going to do anything to it....these are pretty solid drivetrains. Don't look back and wish you would've done more with the car.

Oh I'm having fun alright but like you said at the end don't want to regret not doing it. I'll give it a shot next time.

I think launch control was made for drag radials. I tried to use it first time at track spun the shit out of the tires lifting clutch fast. 2nd and last run I did I used launch control but release clutch slower grabbed good but that will wear clutch fast...
(well i messed that launch up I bounce the clutch by accident)

also wheel hop breaks things. if you get wheel hop release gas to stop the spinning then get back in it. Lower air pressure that will help alot with wheel hop. I got a lil wheel hop at track and my air pressure was at 40psi.. I forgot to lower..

Oh HELL YEAH!!! Look what just showed up at my front door. These are freakin NICE!
Anyone considering trailing arms should look at Spohn's with the del-sphere ends. I plan on doing a install and review soon.

just took mine to the track past weekend. I have about 18 years of drag racing manual transmission experience. Ive ran all from stock to full clutchless 4 and 5 speed transmissions. I really had great luck out of the 10 camaro ss. My car is bone stock and no mods. does have summer perelli tires (pzero). with a small warm up...not a smoke show, just a dust off. I hold the tc button for 5-10 seconds turning on the yellow tc with line through it only. I think this is all off mode. then i leave the line at 3800-4000 and moderately slip clutch for approx 10-15ft then its all go after that and making shifts at 6500 just before redline. Never do i lift throttle on shifts. i have netted an 8.20@86mph with 1.90 60ft time. all stock. My ticket is displayed on the official 1/8 mile thread. NOTE> this technique would probably be the death of the stock clutch if i were a weekend warrior at my local track which i am not. Works for me though tracks and conditions vary. these cars definately have a small sweet spot on launch...miss it and its a scratch pass. always let car cool before any pass for maximum performance. when i leave my pit area digital temp guage is at 135-140 degrees. when i launch i make sure its no more than 170. This makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! and it does take about an hour between passes to achieve this. but when i took the car i was out for blood you feel me. hope this helps not only u but other owners. thanks.
