Really? Why does the Corvette pick up extra ponies with the chambered exhaust option added then?

Welcome to the site. All the available info about the new Camaro can be found here.
So you know who he is, Fbodfather is our very generous inside man at GM. I just don't understand why he still don't have at least honorary Moderator status

I know this link is around a year or so old, and most of you have probably watched it already, but I still have to play it every night before I go to sleep because it sounds so damn cool!!! Go over to www.youtube.com and type in, Tom Peters Camaro . It starts off with him getting in and shutting the vault like door, and then starting it up. He's interviewed while driving around. It lasts a little over eight and a half mins. Be sure to turn up your speakers...we could only hope ours sound this great!!!

Camaro Exhaust Poll

This applies to the SS Models Only:

Can someone set-up a seperate discussion regarding the requested sound via popular vote on Camaro5? I think that listening to the top competitors exhaust notes to help determine the sound of the Camaro's exhaust seems like a good idea, however, the Camaro exhaust should set it apart from the competition. I know that GM for the last several months has identified key competitors such as the G37, 350/370Z, Mustang, Etc. THROW IT ALL OUT THE WINDOW! This comparative approach is not what built this car in the first place. The design on the Camaro is simple... Retro-Modern. Do the same with the exhaust. We can't expect much of an exhaust note deviation from the LS3 2008-09 Corvette (no complaints here)... but don't make it sound like a G8 please! Based on the Ordering Numbers and the overwhelming enthusiast's demand for the SS make it be "RETRO-MODERN"

How do we make the exhaust Retro-Modern?

Let's go to what defines that Retro V8 Muscle Sound. Why not start with a 1969 Camaro. LS3 is 6.2L = 378 Cubic Inches i.e. small block. So how about the 1969 SS with the 396 V8.

Modern Muscle Sound? umm.... how about a LS3 Corvette?
I like the Corsa Extreme Exhaust sound.

I think a mix somewhere in between these two should work just fine.

Exhaust Continued...

I think with the RETRO-MODERN also comes a further definition of Modern. I was going to replace my E46 M3 with an 08 E92 M3. 4.0 V8 appx 410 HP. I like the High Rev engine sound... very similar to Formula / Ferrari Sound... hard to find that exhaust note outside of a race track.

M3 w/ Remus

You can agree with me or not but I will do everything I can to get it to sound like this... even if I have to change the compression.
Ferrari F430 Kreissieg

The Kreissieg is the definition of the modern exhaust sound. Throaty, Strong, Sophisticated, Powerful.

small block refers to the size of the block not the internal cubic inches
