They DO go hand in hand..

You see he, is proud and excited about his dedicated service to his country.
He is also proud and excited about his retirement gift to himself.

As an Air Force Veteran (E-6) myself.... I say, "thank you for your service, and enjoy your new car.".

I seperated in Nov 2008 and still miss the AF.

Congrats on your new car and your retirement. I did the same thing and got myself a new Camaro when I retired last year. I have been retired from the Air Force exactly one year today. All I can say is retirement is awesome.

Congratulations on your retirement gift. I'm retired AF too!!! In fact, I worked with bpoirier above!!! I retired last Sept, and my Camaro was my gift to myself too. My wife gave me the choice of an old one or new one.....it was a very difficult decision!!

Thank You for your service.....I hope you enjoy retirement as much as I do!!

Appreciate all the kind words. Like it was mentioned earlier.....I AM proud to be a retiree.....a retiree from the MOST FEARED Air Force on this great planet of ours! I've spent 10.5 years overseas away from this great country, and family, with a total of 23 years in the Air Force. My beautiful wife said it was time for me to get my dream car.....OUR 2SS/RS! Life has been exciting, and I am blessed to have such a great family and what better way to celebrate patronage.....but by buying AMERICAN MUSCLE! To my fellow Camaro enthusiasts, please don't forget our fellow Airman, Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, and Coast Guard that have dedicated their lives, so that we can have what we have today. You don't know how much it means to us Veterans, that you all appreciate what we've done. My most humble memories of the military are not of the stripes or medals earned along the way.....but of being thanked by people, hand shakes, hugs etc., just saying thank you means alot! And thank you to our Oshawa team for making my dreams come true! I will post pics as soon as I pick it up!

I have delivered at least three Camaro's to military members....One in Hawaii in the Navy, who didn't want to pay $15K over sticker on the island....One who just got home from Iraq (who I communicated mostly via email) and got his car 4 days later at Ft. Bragg, and one just this week to Chad, Stationed in Germany, who flew in just to take his Camaro back home (after a one week volcano delay!).

I have never talked to guys as excited as these guys - this purchase was a big deal for them, and for me, I treated it as such - I could feel how important this was, and it was a great pleasure of mine to be a part of making their dreams come true....a small task for me compared to what they've done for me by serving! God bless you all!
