With over 26,000 members on C5 if even 10% attend the next one that's 2,600 cars converging in one place. Where ever it is it needs to be able to handle that many cars getting in, getting out, hotels, food, access to the track and so on. The vendor area needs to be organized and in a place where everyone can reasonably access it. Parking for that many cars is an issue, not just space but getting into and out of parking. We really don't want it to take an hour and a half just to get into or out of the parking areas.

Anything being done in a special way by GM or any special guest needs to be accessible and visible to all; them standing on the ground at crowd level won't cut it. Ideally there should be a pavilion available for special shows, awards, speakers, etc.

The next fest needs a location that can handle everything and be able to handle future growth. Who knows how big this thing could get?

I vote a centralized location as well. Texas can handle the number of attendees in any of the major cities.

Dallas seems the right choice. About 40 miles south is Ennis, TX hosting one of the best 1/4 mile tracks in the country.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_th...X_to_Dallas_TX

Houston is another great choice with many large vendors that HQ there and another fantastic 1/4 mile track.

Some food for thought.

+1, as I said this isn't even an official poll by the mods.

Personally, I hope next year's is either East or Central so I can go. If not, I will wait for all the awesome stories and pics on here and save up even more money for if and when it is closer to me. I can't imagine being mad one way or the other.

I'm so glad I made a last minute decision to come to this year's though!!!

Maybe the organizers should treat this like the Olympics and everyone who thinks they have a good place make a "presentation" with track, hotel, restaurant, attraction, cost info...

Totally joking....

Central East to West yes... North to south, No.

Regardless where it would be held I'll still attend it. Take into consideration our Northern brothers and east/west coasts.

I will voice an opinion here (that seems to be what this thread is for). I was unable to attend this year due to my work schedule. I would very much like to attend next year. I will have less of an issue with the job next year (I am on a one year leave from work starting in September 2010). However, I live in central Ohio, so I don't think I'd be able to attend if it were to be held in California. I would attend if it is anywhere east of the Rockies. I guess I could attend if it was in California if I flew, but I'd really rather drive my Camaro to the event. So, I suggest that it be somewhere that is centrally located so that the maximum number of people and their Camaros can be there.

Whatever you folks decide, I will respect that. I am just offering my opinion here.

I appreciate all the hard work that goes into planning and running these kinds of events. It's not easy, I'm sure. Thanks!

If you want to please everybody it need to be in a central location like Topeka, St. Louis, or whatever. Need to stop all the bickering about East Coast vs West Coast. That way no one is more than a 2 day drive to get there. Sounds like it would work for our Canadian brothers as well.

Also needs to be a 3 or 4 day event if we start to have a couple thousands car showing up, one day is not going to cut it. Could have the event start on a Monday that way you have the weekend to travel to the show and the next weekend to travel home. For most people they only have to take 5 days off from work and they make a vacation out of it in June when the kids are out of school.

The only down side to centralizing it is bring the East Coast and West Coast together at an event. We might start having drive byes and shooting at each other.

Just my .02 I'll be there where ever it is.

Personally I think there needs to be 2 shows one for central east coast and one for rockies west coast, I mean even central located in Missouri or Ks is still a 2 to 3 day drive from CA and a 2 to 3 day drive from NY.

If you has one in GA like this first one and then one in NV or CA then it would be alot closer for most of our members to go to.

The drive can be an event all it's own

my personal opinion is it doesn't matter where it is held people are not going to be happy anyways. I for one will not attend due to the distance all that are saying keep it in the location it is in now are mostly people with under 8 hour drive or less from it. Bash me if you want It doesn't matter. I will just do the local meet and greets. I agree with HokieERVet even though I don't think it will happen.
