Lightbulb Blur LS

Between the right and the wrong, there is a thin line. You can choose to do the right thing, or you can choose to do the other thing. Life is so black and white.

With our cars, so much is the same.

There is performance and economy. We have chosen to drive the best, and so many have understood the best to be the fastest or the most efficient. Here, the most efficient is far less than its counterparts, so why do they buy? A V6 is not the opposite of a V8. It is just less in performance; in dollars; in handling; some might say in sense.

There is a line between our cars, not unlike the line between the left lane and the right lane. Those passing on the left drive faster and turn more heads, sometimes in awe but other times in disgust. How could this driver afford this car, the fuel that moves it, or the parts to make it look the way it does?

A line separates those who can buy one and those who want to do so. That line so frequently is age. Some say the driver is too young, too inexperienced, or too immature. Where do we draw this line? Are we mature at 18; 36; 54? If we are so mature, then why do we still have our toys at these ages?

Perhaps life is not so black and white.

We have drawn ourselves lines. As a community, let us watch them begin to blur.

Following this post is an impending announcement.

I’m 45, and so childish with my Camaro…

But I understand your point.

I'm 58 and tell people that I'm reliving my 5th childhood...or my third midlife crisis.

Love it - I'm 46 so 4th and 2nd, respectively for me.

18 over here. only if that happens you should see the kinda things some supposedly 'responsible' adults say to me and other people my age. stuff like 'im older then you i can do what i want' 'your young and naive, what you say doesnt matter' etc etc. people look too much into age. another reason i like C5 people here rarely know my age and so i feel happy conversing here how i like. on occasion people find out my and get angry even here on C5. like when i said i was going to go for a test drive of a camaro and asking what i should test, my age slipped out in the thread and everyone concentrated on that with comments being discriminative and completely going off base with what i meant for that thread to do

When you get old enough, you realize that life is the blink of an eye. Even though I'm getting as old as dust, I still feel 18 when I'm driving my new baby. It really is the Indian and not the arrow...you can be a punk at any age.
