If you look at the 'testing locations' on the www.chevy.com/Camaro site, 3 out of the 5 US states were used specifically for testing climate control (TX, AZ, NV). You would be led to believe that they got the cooling right.

I'm surprised the hear people are complaining. I use my A/C almost every day here in south FL and my 2011 will be no exception, so I hope these are just glitches to specific cars and not a design flaw.

Mine works great - hit the AC button and the recirculation button and it will freeze you n*tts off.

My AC work extremely well the day I got mine. It was fine then started blowing warm air. I returned it to deaer to be diagnosed turns out the engine perform to well because a good launch on the highway or street can be to much horsepwer & torque for the AC Compressor. The dealer process a Repair order & the result was REPLACE A/C COMPRESSOR - EVAC & RECHARGE AND REPROGRAM HVAC CONTROL MODULE TO PREVENT EVAPORATOR FREEZ-UP NOW WORKING AS DESIGNED.
It took the dealer 2 days they really took their time & baby the car not to get any scratches or damages. I appreciated that and was also given a free courtesy car from Enterprise for 1 day for free until I got my Camaro completely repaired.

If you have no passenger, you can close the passenger vents which will give you twice the pressure for the driver's side vents. A trick I learned in my moms Escalade

make sure the tempature knob is turned all the way to the left. It happened to me a couple of times. I thought it was all the way on cold but it wasn't.

The air coming out of the vents is spec'd out to be 60 F., but will only be 30 F. cooler than the inlet air. Stick a thermometer in the A/C outlet and see what it reads.

It takes a while to get the hot interior cool. Initially, open the windows for a few minutes to get that nasty heat out and use outside air. When the temps of the interior get down a little, switch over to recirculate with the air at the coldest setting. The highest fan speed is not always the best, it takes time for the heat transfer to take place in the evaporator. Get moving, the GM A/C units are rated the best of the best. You MUST have airflow over the condenser to get the heat out of the R134A refrigerant. Idling in traffic is going to be the hardest time to get the interior cool quickly.

Tint the windows, even though our "gun slit" windows are small, they will let the interior get very hot.

Get a sunshade for the windshield.

The dark colored cars will be the worst. White, silver and yellow will be the "coolest" colors, black, graphite and the dark blue will absorb more heat when in the direct sun.

Park in the shade, when that is not possible, lower the door windows about 1/2 an inch to vent the heat.

Brought mine to the dealer yesterday, turns out they forgot to fill the tank at the factory. It happens, just glad it wasnt anything serious. She now blows out really cold air, just in time for summer.
