I thought I never wanted a black car. They're ALOT of work.

That being said, I've never received so many compliments or detailing jobs as a result of owning my black SS.

Tell me about it, whats even worse is I have 50 feet in between houses and my neighbors have no problem with it. I hate planned communities and there rules.

At least the house is paid for,

So... build an "addition" to your house... just make sure the extra room has about a 6' wide door on it.

To me black is well worth the effort. It is by far the most gorgeous color on this car. It screams bad ass, sexy, and evil all at the same time. For me upkeep is not that bad and i live in dusty california. What i do is just do a normal wash every 2 weeks or so and dust it with th California duster and follow up with a quick detail spray every 3 days or so. That process only takes me about ten minutes. Well worth it to me to own the best color camaro made.

i'm the same way... as long as theres no summer showers I can go 2-3 weeks between washings, sometimes more. Just do a quick wipe down with waterless wash every morning before I leave and another when I get home.

Having a garage to park in obviously makes all the difference in the world!!

I tell ya what, I have always wanted the black muscle car my whole life too. I finally bought my dream car and I do not look back. It is a bitch keeping clean and I work hard at it. Now, mother nature has thrown the "Pollen Storm" at me and after a day at work, my beast is covered in yellow powder! But I clean it, dust it, and keep on drivin'. It gets no better than my Black SS.

Four of my previous cars were black, and I never had that much trouble keeping them looking good, so I figured the Camaro would be the same. It's way too much work now. I think there are 2 reasons for that: 1- I'm not in my 20's anymore and 2- I am fussier about the Camaro partly because the paint is better than the others( even though it seems to cip easier), and it cost over $40K so I feel more obligated to keep it looking like a 40 grand car.

No regrets. My black Camaro is still a lot easier to keep clean than my old full-size black Dodge Ram Sport extended cab - detailing that thing would put you in the hospital for a week.
