Question vflag quarterpannel intall?? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I ordered 2 1967 vflag emblems to put under the camaro on the side of my car but I don't want to drill holes in my car to install them with the clips it has. What would be the best material/ item to have it secuered to the car? Would 3 m double stick tape be good for this aplication?

Yes, 2 sided tape is a good alternative. This emblem also has hollow pockets on the back side that you need to fill in with JB Weld or similar product. I put these same flags on mine about 3 months ago.

YES, use something like a dremil tool and cut or grind off the pins off the back and smoothe them down, then use double sided 3M MOLDING TAPE, I did this mod 8 months ago, have had NO issues. I did not do any filling of teh back, insted I put two layers of tape. You can find it at about any decent autoparts store. only about $5

Clearcoat the emblem before installing. Some folks have been having problems with paint peeling.

Thanks for the info and heads up on the paint issue. A can of model clear coat should do the trick. I'll prob double up the tape seems to be quicker and easier.

It looks great guys, just used 3m tape and clearcoated it. Don't have my camara to post pic but will later!

OK for us guys without a shop, compressor, or paint gun... is there a way to clear coat with just a spray can?

yea there is spray clear coat, that is what i did. i did about 8 coats with the can spray.
