And here us v6ers were having meaningful discussions about CAI, exhaust, FI and gears...then our section got obliterated with this train wreck of a thread.

You are 100% correct. V8 sound will always be considered muscle. But the car just can't compare. I like the consideration of "Modren Day Muscle Car" by HollywoodGU.
Still an awesome looking and fun to drive car.

WHY do people want to put a Label on this car? This is the stupidest argument of all time...
I'll Say it one more time..

IT'S A CAMARO Get it??
Now all you that want to keep arguing whether any Camaro is a Muscle car go ahead, it is what it is. The only true Muscle Cars are the Mid sized Big Block cars from the mid 60's to early 70's, All others are just wannabe Muscle Cars...

My brother sent me a link on facebook for the review on the v6 camaro. There is another link on that page I didnt see the is the review for the v8 camaro. I stand corrected on that point. If my brother did get it with a v8, this whole argument would mostly be moot. Another thing I personally beleive is a muscle car is a straight line light to light kinda car. Also every muscle car should be tweaked and tuned by the average joe in his garage. A 1970 camaro you could tune and mod with a set of sockets a screw driver and a couple bucks. I am bitter towards all these new computer driven egines Ill admit. A muscle car to me is an average weight car with a huge engine (v8 or bigger) geared to go 0-whatever light to light while rattling windows for blocks. The new pony cars just dont have that soul. Personal preference i guess

When I was growing up a muscle car to me was a "mid size" or larger body style car "usually" with a V-8.

The 2010 Camaro if I am not mistaken is considered a compact size car so should that take away the muscle definition of the car and lean it toward the pony definition? In other words, does the body size define it as muscle or pony as well?

I don't think any of todays cars are true muscle cars simply because of the over-all strenth of the car, not just because it is a v8 or v6. yeah. why are we still arguing with people who don't even have a Camaro, or were fooled by the V6 until they had to be told it was a 6 in the first place?

As a regular V6 guy on this sub-forum, I can say pretty factually most of our posts are intelligent and informed & respectful. Sometimes we disagree. That's okay. We've all paid for the price of admission. But it's our little corner of this forum, and we all get along fine. I suggest you others move on to your own sections or other car forums and stop wasting our time with these silly pointless threads.

I vote us LLT guys stop posting and let this thread fade away into obscurity.

The V6 is not a muscle car in the purest sense of the definition. THe V6 or lower model engine vehicle of any muscle car family can be called a pony car, but not a muscle car as that term is relegated to the V8's or above only. That's just the way it is. I owned a V6 Mustang and also a Mustang GT over the years and enjoyed them both. However I knew the V6 simply looked like a muscle car but was lacking in raw power that it's bigger brother had.. Now you can say the current Camaro's V6 is pulling more horses than the 95-98 Mustang and Camaro's of the day, however it is all relative to the times as engines improve.

Now I haven't driven the V6 Camaro but having driven the V8 Camaro for over a year now, driving my V6 Mustang automatic around feels really slow in comparison and I used to think that one was pretty quick when it was new. Heck, my Pontiac G6 GT feels slow compared to the Camaro SS and that is no slouch since it beats the Camaro V6 in speed since it weighs a lot less.

Back then, the Government wasn't as intrusive and over-regulating as they are now. I agree cars were stronger back then, but that did not make them safer. THey would fair very well against the compacts of today tearing them apart though..
