I'm a little confused by the SRT8. It has the price close to that of a GT500, but performance more on par with the SS and GT. I guess we'll see if their marketing strategy works out for them.

Chryslers were always more expensive for the most part. What I don't understand is why they didn't use the 6.1 in the R/T and sell it in the price range of the SS and then make an Srt-8 or even a 10 using the viper motor with a lot more power and performance. Then they could sell it at the price point of the GT500(if it performed at or above it's level) and make 10 grand more and sell more of both cars.

#1 I never said anything about the 2010 mustang comparison. Frankly I think it was a dumb move for Ford to debut the new GT with the old engine and was surprised to not see it get slaughtered by the SS. They did the same with the new f-150s. (guess I just dont understand the ways of the blue oval)'

#2 Again, your just arguing semantics. Yes the Camaro is the top dog right now, the same as the 05-06 GT was Ford's with the 2007 500hp Shelby on the horizon. I think your a little too hung up on this top v top, top v mid business. I'm focusing on performance.

#3 I don't see where I contradict myself at all here. I was simply pointing out that the SRT-8 is a fair comparison from a performance standpoint, never mind the $10k premium over the SS. Comparing the R/T Chally to the SS from a performance aspect is just as silly as SS v GT500.

Fair enough, the 2010 GT was down 111hp to the SS. While we are picking and choosing facts lets just ignore the fact that the 2010 GT, which was treated so unfairly in comparison to the SS, weighed 300 pounds less and is probably the best handling live axle car ever. Lets also ignore the fact that Ford upgraded to the 5.0 to compete with the SS on price and horsepower. If they didn't think it was a relevant comparison why not just let the new and improved aluminum block GT500 lay the smack down on the "top dog" SS while adding 5 more limited edition, GT based models with pretty stripes and seats.

If you still think that a low volume, built and blown Gt500 is a fair comparison to the mass produced n/a SS simply because they are both top... Well

With your tranny issues and needing to maintain the warranty...I'd go practice, practice, practice with my "stock" Camaro!

In the end, you'll find guys that have lots and lots of things done to their Mustang (and even Camaros) but can't transfer all that HP to the wheels...meaning they sit and spin while you are moving foward down the 1320!

Seen many a supercharged car run mid to low 13s while the stock car ran the same times or lower...because the driver couldn't "drive" what he had!

Keep her stock with the issues you've had...enjoy it for what it is and master what you have!
