Next time you're out of town, how about I park in your driveway? You're gone so it's no inconvenience to you, so that makes it all okay, right?

You can believe whatever you want, but the fact of the matter is, you have no such "right." You have the right to park however you want in your own driveway, but unless the parking lot belongs to you, your parking in it is a privilege, one dependent on your following the rules, regardless of whether you think you're inconveniencing anyone or not: don't go through the lot at 60mph, don't park in reserved or handicapped spots or where it says "No Parking", and do park between the lines, not over them. It's the parking lot owner who has all the rights - including the one to have your car towed or booted if you're taking up four spots at the periphery of the lot, if he so wishes. The fact that the people owning parking lots don't go after you doesn't mean you have a right they're just busy doing something else.

Try and defend taking up multiple spots all you want for whatever "my car is too pretty to be breathed on much less parked next to" reason you can think of, but don't go around creating imaginary rights to excuse it. That attitude is way more problematic for the rest of us than simple, "there's a rule but I don't care" arrogance.

I had some dumb ass park there piece of crap mini van so close to my SRX I had to crall across the pass seat to get in.There were plenty of parking spaces. That F**k head almost got vandled. If I wasn't going to an appointment I would have waited for the F head to come out. My camaro doesn't frequent those parking lots.

I park as far away as possible, and next to much nicer cars if there's no isolated spot available at distance, since I know they'll respect your car since they, presumably, respect theirs.

But I would NEVER take up two spots. That screams "attention, look at me" - and is just asking to get damaged for being a prick. Best to be proactive than reactive.

Hear, hear.

to me looks like the guy on the right was parked first, and this guy pulled in, not paying attention to the lines, because who knows, every car to the right might be over the line.

Some people engage their mouth or fingers before they ever engage their brains or maybe it is a lack of brains

Looks like there is a car to the left of you, and if that parking lot was empty to begin with why take up two spots? do you naturally just pull in over the center line by accident?

so if you have kids, it's OK?

You can tell by how the Camaro's parked he was there first- he's almost dead center on the yellow line. If the car to the right was there first he could've just parked in the single space next to the Lexus. The Camaro parked that way thinking who ever would park to the right of him would just take the next full open spot- instead they parked closer to him which kinda defeated the purpose of taking up two spots .

If your SRX was taking up 2 spots at the time, then this is hilarious and I hope it happens more often!

I also asked if you naturally go for right over the line leading you in that position, what hole?
