Thanks for the report. I don't think you can lose either way, still driving an Iconic V-8 sport coupe (pony/muscle car, whatever you want to call it). I prefer the styling of the Camaro myself, but I am holding off until I hear what the 6.4 hemi is going to come to the table with (Love that Challenger!).

My 05 V6 Stang was kind of the same way... a tune fixed it right up!

The other thing with the tranny as the downshifts were PAINFULLY SLOW! Foot to the floor... one thousand-one, one thousand-two... oh, finally downshift! LOL

Wondering how the 2011 is in that regards...

2 seconds is a good amount of time on a road course. Using that logic, the Camaro isn't too far behind the 2009 Porsche Boxster S.

dont be surprised. both the 3.7 and 5.0 are being marked down. keep in mind that ford still has to compete with chevy, who is marking down their cars. chevy could mark up the camaro because they had NO competition on the v6 front, and minimal from the V8 front.

youre not understanding. judging by the length of the straightaway (3km) that means that is where the Camaro beat the cobalt, take away that straight and the Cobalt would have won.

Take away some of those corners and the Camaro would have won. Should of, could of, would of. But it seems the Porsche is faster in the straight line then the Camaro, which would have to mean that it was beaten in the straight sections. See where I'm going with this?

the porsche caymen S has completed the ring in 8:11 by Walter Röhrl and thats with only 320hp. And no i dont believe the Caymen is faster than the 2010 Camaro on the straight either although i see where you are TRYING to go with that. They are about as fast as an LS1 F-Body in a straight line if you must know.

I realize that was the point you were trying to make, which is exactly why I said it. It is a pointless "should of, could of, would of" moment that is irrelevant to the victory of the Camaro over the Cobalt.

its not completely irrelevent as you want it to be. You get a better picture as to what the race between those two cars is like for just about the whole road course, then that 3km straight towards the end is the only thing that seperated them and if anything, changes the actual outcome....

If I can get X plan pricing on a 2011 GT we will trade my wife's 2010 GT in.

Plan to discuss with our prior salesman within the next week.

I thought that the only comparisons to be made for the 'ring were supposed to be same day? I remember reading an article that covered this exact topic saying that the weather and conditions affect the times so greatly it's impossible to compare different day runs. However, maybe I made that up in my head.

the porsche boxster s is actually slower than the cayman s weighs about 100lbs more and produces 310hp and still ran an 8:17 on the ring.
