My car was built in feb 190XXX, absolutly no bass in the front door speakers. Very UNimpressed with the BA sound. Looks like subs will HAVE to be added.

i usually have mine at -1 because i feel like my speakers are in pain any higher. It sounds good, but if i do add subs, i feel like it will be pointless if i have to keep the bass low anyway

I got this "fix" on friday and it is much worse now then it was.
The new speakers have ZERO bass, and they still distort if the volume gets over 23.

I had to keep my bass below 3 before the fix, now it doesn't matter where it is, there isn't any coming from the front of the car now. I'm going back in again to see what can be done to fix the fix. Not impressed.

What all is replaced in the TSB??? just the speakers or the amp as well?

the way i understood it, it was just an update to the software, so that less base is sent to the current speakers.

ok so basically they replace the speakers that are blowing and install an amp the a different crossover chip in it, essentially raising the highpass frequency, and the way it sounds it takes all the bass and low-end Midbass out of the front end. So this just goes to show everyone how much of a bad system they are using.

Go Aftermarket....

GM should've just used in-line bass blockers on the speakers..

Just fyi, if you buy our PNP RCA out harness, you could actually install bass blockers in the harness itself and not have to worry about removing door panels or speakers or even cutting any wiring in the vehicle for that matter. It would be really simple to do.

its a way to ghetto rig your car so you feel like you didnt get raked over the coals with the factory upgrade sound system.

I believe it just adds a crossover to those front channels only. Not sure how the Factory MTX hook up but I would doubt it would effect the bass going to it.

TSB replaced the front speakers and the amp. I had to wait three weeks for the speakers to come in because they are on back order. God only knows why, they are horrible.

Even with the eliminated bass on the front speakers they still distort (voice distortion). The rear speakers have less bass also and I have never heard them distort. I'm going to have to crack the back panel to see if there is an adjustment that can be made on the amp itself. Very disappointed with the "fix".

I've been spoiled with car audio system in my cars over the years. I've had mild systems with a single 10" sub, to a killer 6500watt multi-sub system in a '91 Mustang hatchback. Hell, I put a 1500 watt system in my wife's little MR-S (Convertable MR-2 from 2000-2005). I thought for some reason that the upgraded BA system would rival that of my '97 Z-28's Bose system. What was I thinking, right? Stupid me, why would audio equipment improve in 13 years?

I'm just not thrilled with having to replace a system that I paid extra for. I still like the other features that came with the system, just not the sound quality. I should have heard the newer speakers before I went ahead and had them installed. I guess it's time to start looking for a good set of front and rear speakers to go with my soon to be ******** equipment.

It's sad that the stock sytem in my HHR Panel wagon (company car) sounds better than the upgraded BA system in my Camaro.

The polished wheels on the HHR are more shiny than on the Camaro too.

Car acoustics have a lot to do with the quality of sound as well.

I am actually quite pleased with the BA system, I hope my speakers don't crap out before I can upgrade them.
