LOL- I was thinking the same thing!

I think you need to drive each car back to back multiple times. Have your wife get one, and you go get the other, and do a day long test drive on each. In the long run, you'll know which one fit's you best. I love the Challenger SRT-8, but they are just too much money for me. I enjoy the heck out of my Camaro 2SS!

Sorry, not buying it.

I'd save your money on the car, and open a performance shop to do upgrades to other people's cars.....seems like it might make you happier.

The interior of the Challenger sucks. You can't tell if you're driving a truck, Caliber, Caravan, or Challenger. They're all the same. At least the Camaro has a distinctive interior, despite perceived "quality" issues some people have with it.

Right now if you just compare performance with price the Camaro beats out the challenger by a long shot. But it sounds like you'll be selling this car in a few months anyways and the buyer would have to pay the extra $$ as well since it started out as an SRT.

There's a refresh in the LX cars coming up later on this year, all of them will be getting a new interior and slightly different body panels. I'm waiting for that before I make my decision.

That being said, I think with your history with cars I would get the challenger just for a change of pace. Who knows, the refresh might make it a much more appealing car and this way you'll already have some experience with one.

Since you won't be keeping this next car either, get the Chally. I have the 2SS, by brother just bought the SRT8 and does nothing but complain about it. Rides hard, interior dull and drab, gas mileage 13/17. I'm still having the time of my life in my Camaro - love it! Lori

I think JCSSCamaro is a tad spoiled. Good grief if you didn't drive the first sports car you had, why would you waste time on another no matter what it is? Give me the money if you just want to throw it away.

don't get me wrong, I really do like the challenger. absolutely beautiful car.

my concerns about the car are:
much larger on the road. personally used to smaller cars.
have heard that it is a cop magnet.
gas guzzler tax on the srt8 of $2100.
bland interior.

regardless, I was pretty close to have purchasing one.

If OP has this much money to spend modding, buying and selling cars, why not just go ahead and get something like a Z06 or a Viper? Hell, how much could a used Gallardo or SL65 be?

Now people are getting mad because of the color of type selected. What's your problem? How could I possibly offended you by picking yellow type? Lighten up.

This isn't a more money than brains issue. He has a hobby that he enjoys, modding cars and flipping them. Good for him, we should all be so lucky to be able to financially support a somewhat fiscally demanding passion. He is entitled to spend his money as he pleases, fortunately for him, he's been able to do so while allegedly turning profit.

Modding cars and selling them for profit isn't exactly an unorthodox notion... If it was Hennesy, Callaway, and all the others wouldn't exist... why is it so hard to believe that someone can do this on their own?

Hey man, DO what YOU love and the money will come. -- Maybe he should open his own shop.

Well, if it's just the tinkering you like...

I say go for the challenger, you already tinkered with a camaro, do something new, unless you want to go a new way with something you've already done.

You could make even more money

The first rule of modding something that's not American is to not try to compete with modded V8 cars that are American. Really, they can run insane power with little investment. It's not even a fair fight.
