Not being racist to any races but please can we get some people that speak understandable english to talk to us damnit. Last week I got a call and I asked where they were calling from and the smart guy goes "ummmm america" I just hung up. And last time I called xm I couldnt understand a thing they were saying I had to try more then 3 times to get some one I can slightly understand.

Dear XM quit being cheap hire people that can speak good.

thats why I never gave my credit card number for XM or Onstar just to "have on file" when I first got my car. I told them, if after the free trials are up and I decide I still want the service, I WILL CALL THEM and order it.

Sounds like a class action lawsuit is in order.

If this is common practice they need to be shut down period. It is fraudulent and against better business practices.

At this point I would get your credit card company involved.

XM and Sirius will remain to appear to offer separate channels in order to give the perception that there is competition. However, as somebody stated, they are the same company. Somebody in corporate decided to keep the two services separate so people could "choose" which service they liked better. My Dad has had Sirius for years though and I remember the DJs saying that they'd be moving to channel X due to the XM merger. I don't know why they moved the channels around if they're keeping the services separate???

XM-Sirius

I know on my wifes's Chrysler 300 we have Sirius and had no problems, with anything. This is the first I have had XM and I am not sure if it is an antenna loose or what but I get static and lose reception all over town. I drive 56 miles one way to work and will hear 15-25 split second static where it is losing reception. It is enough to drive me back to FM

had problems with XM before.. cancelled the service the day i picked up my car. had it cancelled before i even drove off the lot. not only that, but those people called me ATLEAST 4 times a day for 2 months, even after i told them to take me off their calling list. which is illegal for them to do, after you tell them to stop. horrible business, horrible customer service, horrible service in general.

The longer they hold your money, the more interest they earn from it.

just a heads up my job is to deal with call center antics...

i know some people say they would not accept 7-10 business days... however thats legit... you can refund the money right away, however actual transaction takes time.

i've dealt with sirius before and they have been ok so far. No issues.

if any of you actually get into a situation like this, always remember it is your right to ask for a supervisor from the start, just give the reason why.... always open up a call by asking for the rep's name and employee number.

things that don't make sense:
1. you cannot ask them to pull a call to listen to because they will say "those calls are for quality purposes and we don't record all of them"... they are useless in court as per binding legalities.
2. you cannot record a phonecall without asking the rep's permission first (and they accept - more than likely they will not). it doesnt hold up in court.
3. if you are can't get help, always ask for an executive office etc.
4. last resort - if things really are not working in your favor, go to the government body that monitors this type of activity, I think it would be CRTC in Canada.

I know most of this dont make sense replying to this post, its just a general tip to try and help you guys out.
To the OP, hope you get your money back.

This depends on where you are. For example, Texas is a "one-party state," which means only one party to the call (ie you) needs to be aware it's being recorded. You don't have to tell them a thing.

However, lawyers helping people with debt issues will often advise them to *say* to the rep "Hang on while I turn on my recorder," as it makes them hang up immediately.

However, those same lawyers (at least here in Texas) advise that you buy a recorder and always use it to record harrassing calls....and it *is* admissable in court here.

I've had no problems with Sirius, except excessive mailers "We want you back".
