Oh my Stars, this thread popped while I was gone. After that sentiment from Scott, I'll rest my case. I'd still like to see a metallicized Hugger Orange or at least something along the lines of it, for that's an urge of mine that will never burn out... but I guess I don't really represent the entire consumer audience. HOPEFULLY what I represent is a potential one of over 100,000 buyers in the first year.

Like I said in another thread, IOM really isn't that bad a color when you see it in person, the orange comes out much better. Perhaps the photos of that car taken in the daytime had flash on or a super high contrast setting or something, because the Solstice I saw in person the other day, there was NO way it could ever look that red.

Yup, but definately is not hugger orange. I've painted hugger orange on my 69 SS/RS.....and that ain't hugger orange. I would'nt be able to sleep at night if I had a 5th gen Camaro in my garage in that color. I'd probably be staring at it all night long and drooling.

If you read all the posts in different threads about IOM and orange in general, it seems to me the real wish is not so much for hugger orange specifically, which according to some was originally rather red itself, but for a fairly bright orange orange. It could be metallic or pearl, we loved the vert concept orange.

We would like an orange that is orange even on dark gray cloudy days. It's cloudy and gray an awful lot in Indiana. Not an orange that looks brown or red or yellow. None of the metallic oranges that I have seen on GM cars, or really anyone's cars, in the past 4 years meet that criteria. And I think the poll backs that up. I don't know if it is really difficult to make a true orange metallic, or if the style is simply not to go with a true orange orange. The Mistubishi Eclipse has the best orange metallic out there IMHO. I have seen IOM in person on a hummer every day now for a couple weeks, the vast majority of the time it is just looks red, with a slight orange tint if you look closely. It is not a fun, bright muscle car orange we were hoping for. The orange on the NACE car is much closer, is that a custom paint for that show?

Anyways, by the time the vert comes out, maybe we could hope for a really orange orange with metallic or pearl? That would be very cool!

I think I like that orange better than Hugger orange. We need to start a petition to have GM add this color to their lineup. There's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't offer a true bright orange color that ALWAYS looks orange. I wish somebody could find out what that color is called.

So, what are the chances that GM will change or add a different orange?

I'm so glad that you posted this. Sometimes, we all need to be reminded of the bigger picture.

In light of Scott's recent comments. It's best to let this one go for now.

Sorry.
