Very few cops have tint meters, mainly Florida Highway Patrol. I am in the habit of lowering the windows if I see a trooper. I got nailed for tint in my Civic about 5 months ago, the trooper came up behind me and I didn't see him, luckily I knew him though (I'm a firefighter) so he let me go. If he gets me again and realizes I bought a new car AND did 5% again he may not be so nice next time! I know his patrol area and can avoid it for the most part. Also if you get a tint ticket in FL you don't have to remove the tint, you just pay the ticket and hope to not get nailed again.

The guys around here who want to race are generally in BMW's...weird. They have some zip and power....German's do build a pretty good car....Audi's are a ton of fun given how hard you truly can push them. But the only thing I would prove is that I'm not a race car driver. V8 with a manual and I'm not confident I would win against the BMW who is wanting to race to the next red light.....But I do like knowing that better drivers could use my car and take the guy in the BMW.....so I proudly sit back and know I've got it under the hood, but chose not to waste it on racing.

About 2 weeks ago I was driving home from work and TWO obviously modded stangs pull up next to me and start the whole rev the engine/pump the gas thing. The one kid(no more than 20 years old) says, "Nice car. Is that the V8?" and reved up again. I just smiled, reved my engine nice and loud and said, "No, it's my daughter's taxi." The 2 kids smiled and raced off. Being I'm a father of a 6 and 7 year old and probably have one of if not the only camaro with everyday booster seats in the back(one has a very nice floral pattern for my daughter might I add) you will simply not catch me street racing with mustangs, BMWs or anything else. It's just not safe to street race.

I have had 5% or less on my TA and on the V and only once got a ticket. Some poe-dunk little town in Iowa state trooper turned his lights on as i pulled in to park.. measured the tint on the Caddy and it registered 2.5%, legal in Iowa is 70% on front from what he told me. $85 ticket even though I had TX plates he knew it wasnt legal anywhere LOL
