Also, 4 wheels pulling, at least 3, against two, with the low range of a transfer case, probably around 2:1, 2.5:1. I know Toyota 'cases were even lower, like 3:1, so he'd have an advantage.

Just looked it up, his transfer case is 2.57:1 in low range, and I'm only finding a 4.10 axle ratio listed, in both auto and manual. Couple that with a first gear ratio of 2.84 in the auto, or 3.954 in the manual, and if his tires hook up, you go backwards! IMHO anyway, lol.

Source of my info.
With the 4.10 gearing I could see it. I was looking on another site saying those were not standard tho on all thier trucks. That only came in the TRD version. Standard gearing was 3.42, so figured it would be hell, but with twice the torque id end up pulling. Figured we would tear some shit up, but when I told him put his money where his mouth was and he back down.

I dunno. What if you just lower your air pressure to get a bigger contact patch and just sit still with your brakes on. Could he budge your 3800 pound Camaro?

I didn't think 4.10s were standard in all the models, but that site I referenced only showed the 4.10s.

Glad he backed down, lol. That could have been ugly!

WTF? Ya don't have a pull-off between a car and a truck, thats ridiculous. Truck vs truck, that's it. Tell Mr. Turdra to hook up to a REAL truck like a Silverado or F-150. Bet he LOSES that one. About ten years ago, a bunch of my buddies were braggin about whose truck was the baddest, so we all started hookin em up rear bumper to rear bumper...on CONCRETE! After some busted axles and transfer cases, (as well as egos), the winner was a 1 ton Dodge RAM Cummins 4 WD dually with an auxiliary fuel tank in the bed FULL of fuel. He beat a H1 HUMMER. WEIGHT and TORQUE are the keys here. Guy with the Hummer even was lowering the air in his tires from inside the cab, didn't help. He was miffed. Oh, and absolutely ZERO imports ever won one matchup. Pathetic!

yep weight matters more than power. my f-100 with a cummins makes about 450rwhp and 1200rwtq and weighs about 4500lbs i guess. it gets pulled by my 06 powerstroke dually, that i dont have any more, which makes 475rwhp and 760rwtq and weighs just shy of 9000lbs.

Just wondering if the Tacoma guy mentioned his TRD (Magnuson) blower...
My '01 Tacoma S-Runner W/TRD blower & headers, has surprised quite a few people. It's in storage now, and still looks nearly new, with only 22K miles on it.
Don't be too surprised when a 12 to 13 second Tacoma sleeper pulls away from you... There are some out there. (mine, nearly stock, is only in the mid 14 range)

Wow whay a crazy comparison! I own a manual V6 99 Tacoma no TRD, and V6 RS Camaro. My Tacoma registration says it weighs 3500 LBS. Have pulled alot of cars out of snow. It sure helps if the bed is full of snow for extra weight. The tires are every bit as wide as the Camaro. At least the ones I have installed. Anyway I think the Tacoma would win if it was hooked up from the front and pulling in reverse. The rear end is very very light.

Now when I jump from my Camaro into my Tacoma I could swear the e-brake is stuck on.

As an avid off roader for years, I have owned numerous 4X4's from full size trucks, a Jeep Wrangler, AND a Toyota FJ Cruiser (which is basically the same platform the Tocoma is built on) , I can speak from experience when I say his Yota will pull your camaro all over the place...Its all about the gearing.
Now if he is in 2WD, you might be able to hold him from dragging you but not likely with the gears we have.
